Conspiracy Theory of The Day: Clinton to Edwards - "Our guys should talk."
Hillary Clinton was the victim of an unknowingly unsilenced microphone after this morning's NAACP forum in Detroit. Junkies might just blow their eardrums out trying to catch what she was saying to John Edwards during the 45 seconds that her microphone was hot, but the audio was mostly drowned out by thanks from host Russ Mitchell and by an organist's rousing rendition of "God Bless America." But here's the tantalizing pieces that we picked out of the cacophony:

"But we've got to (inaudible) ... They are just being trivialized... You know, I think there was an effort by our campaign to do that. Somehow we got to get back to it. Because that's all we are going to do."

She then shared a quick handshake with her No.1 rival, chirping "Thanks, Barack!" and then another "Thanks Dennis!" to Kucinich.

Here's the kicker for the pundits and conspiracy theorists: Clinton turned back to Edwards and concluded, "So, our guys should talk."

7. Well, I don't
Edwards/Clinton, however, I could accept, but I figure if he gets the nomination he will pick someone better than that.

3. Sounds like she is talking about poverty, good for her.
Edited on Thu Jul-12-07 01:26 PM by jsamuel
We've got to get back to {that issue as a party}. {The poor} are being trivialized...

But really, she could be talking about any number of issues.

Certainly, this has nothing to do with VP spots and such. Edwards is running for President, not for Show.

Was there some comment by Edwards during it that this was maybe a response to?

9. Well, I think that she is probably talking about
Dem issues like poverty being trivialized. The Post has done 2 articles on Edwards' hair, for example.

10. Hmm, sounds like campaign strategy. Collusion?
Likely target: Barack Obama?

I can't think of Hillary telling Obama that "our guys should talk" in any context. None.

12. I do not trust Hillary but, I saw the video. It did not look like anything sinister
while they were talking both Kucinich and Obama approached them to shake hands and neither clinton or Edwards tried to hide their conversation or change it. You know both Kucinich and Obama heard at least part of it.
doubt it was more than something routine.

13. I just posted a link and the topic of their discussion
It is really shocking! they were discussing how they needed to get the debates to where the number of candidates is lower so they could really get into substance of issues.

14. If it was Hill and Edwards, probably a proposal to head off Obama
Edited on Thu Jul-12-07 08:32 PM by Capn Sunshine
After all he threatens to inundate them both with his fundraising.
You may not remember this but Obama set a record for fundraising last quarter, and Hillary was millions behind. Edwards even more so.
So yeah, their guys need to compare notes.
God knows they do it on DU all the time.

(apropos of nothing)

16. righteo
Any time there's collusion with Hillary and Edwards posters, it's not what it seems

It's just my rampant paranoia.
And a reason why it's not real constructive to engage those twits.
I could be fundraising instead.

They must be terrified of a guy who they have gained 17 and 11 points on respectively in the last month and a half in the latest national poll. :boring:
