I watched Fred Thompson on Hannity and Colmes last night.

What a cranky old fuck. He used the same bullshit talking points that Bush and Rush and Hannity use. He will only appeal to Bush's 26%. He was talking about the war and how Iran could be next and how we need to know where to bomb and how deep and shit. The crowd was screaming like wild animals whenever he and Hannity would discuss killing or bombing. These warmongering pigs are disgusting and I can't believe people like this exist.

The pandering that seems to be required, in the form of horrendously out of the mainstream talking points, sets them up to be seen as nothing more than wild old coots to the mass of the voting public.

Thompson, I think, is going through a Honeymoon period like Rudy did. Once he comes out into the sunlight at all it will burn and his support will fade. He will try to stay above the fray. Rudy has the Rove machinery on his side though.

I hear what you are saying though, it's quite surreal to hear them using those bulletin points to address the 25% or so of people that still like bush. It's like we're sitting in on a private conversation.

Apropos, I was kicking around our chances against a Thompson/Giuliani ticket (Rudy as VP) in another thread, and to me that ticket does seem the toughest even though I see a little hypocrisy with the hate radio crowd's support of Thompson e.g. Hannity always doing his poor impersonation of Bill Clinton's voice and talking about "chasing tail" and getting blowjobs and whatnot. It seems Thompson could give Clinton a run for his money in that department ;)

who ended up on a Law and Order show for about two years with about 6 or 8 lines a week is now an expert on terra...Hell Sam Waterson should be made a dictator. He speaks a hell of a lot more and has been on the show for almost ten years. And he doesn't have lymphoma.
