The Gingrich 'revolution' was a bottom up move on federal power. It worked for a while, until the lie was exposed. They tagged us with slander and innuendo. They also paved the way for an administration that has wrecked much of our stability, domestically and internationally.

In lieu of impeachment, which is a convoluted and time consuming process, politically and socially, we Dems may be better served by trumpeting Bush as the 'leader' of the Republican Party. Remind them they bought the guy. In this instance, facts are on our side.

One way or another, Bush is retiring in 2009. I think it may be worth our while, though, to remind the electorate that this is a Republican president.

1. I think this is what everyone who is "against" impeachment is thinking.

I think the overall results of not impeaching would be more Democrats elected and more power. But there's so much black-and-white thinking on this issue that I don't think this fact is going to get people to calm down.
