Edited on Sat Jul-14-07 12:00 PM by saracat
I saw a brief bit on CSPAN at which time my cable provider had cut the audio and I had to get it fixed and I have seen nothing since.Brief mentions of the news. Why is one of our greatest First Ladies and and outstanding American being ignored? There were more threads on DU for Kurt Vonnegut and we certainly had more for Reagan and Ford! MSM devoted hours to Jackie and to John Jr., who had accomplished nothing. I do not begrudge them the coverage but I do not understand the slight to Lady Bird by all sides.

2. I can only address the MSM's answer to that:
Because she's not Nancy Reagan. :eyes:

3. In Texas it was big news, but formerly prominent people die every day
TMaybe there should be an independent obit channel.

6. It should be big nrews in more than Texas. She was First Lady
for the entire nation and a substantive one.She did more than JackieO who had reams of coverage when she dies. There was nothing elese on and all she did was redecorate the WH!

4. Wait until Nancy Reagan dies.
She has done nothing but will receive credit for everything.

5. Lady Bird leaves a more substantive legacy
than any former First Lady since Eleanor Roosevelt.

7. The same reason we won't get as much coverage when Carter dies...
As we did when both Reagan and Ford died.
