Interesting geographical statistic re Dems vs repugs.

Heard this from a political statistician(?) on NPR yesterday.

If you live near a Starbucks you're more likely to be a Dem.

If you live near a WalMart you're more likely to be repug.

You can't drink Starbucks coffee without dumping huge amounts of cream, sugar, whipped cream, flavor syrup, or other additives. The dark roast always gives it a bitter aftertaste. Why in the heck that caught on is beyond me. I like my coffee strong and black. Eight O'Clock Columbian is my favorite.

But I do patronize a local coffee shop that is near campus, but nearby in Athens, Ala., the Starbucks is literally across the street from WalMart! Of course the "street" is a 6 lane highway with on and off ramps not included for US 31 and I-65.
Sounds about right for Athens, and if one is headed west the Starbucks is on the LEFT!
