Retired Major General Campaigns for Obama in Le Mars

A retired major general and fighter pilot says Barack Obama's opposition to the war in Iraq at the start of the conflict makes him the right choice to be the next commander-in-chief.

Major General Scott Gration kicked off a four-day tour across Iowa in Le Mars Monday.

He says Obama’s the right person to bring our troops home and end the war in Iraq because the Illinois senator spoke out against war when many others were unwilling to do the same.

“Through that period up till now, he has been very consistent in his understanding of what America needs to be doing and he has shown not only that judgment, but the courage to speak out,” said Gen. Gration.

1. His experience in the third world makes him unique in understanding the cultures.
he knew about the tribal influence and how strong it was and it's one reason he was against this war.
He knows and understands the culture and people of the area with his personal experience. And he respects them.
