A Google news search of the terms "Vitter" and "diaper" only turns up blog entries at this point. Does anyone know if there's been any further confirmation of Senator Poopypants' fetish?

Part of me doesn't even care if there's any truth to the rumor, but I have to think that if it received any MSM attention, it'd be considered true and he'd be toast.

Is it wrong to use Swift Boat tactics on rethugs? I'm starting to think no, fuck it, by any legal means, even when that involves feeding the average idiot voter questionable (but easily refutable, if they'd only turn off American Idol) information about candidates.

Where did this diaper story originate? I have only heard mention of it on DU? To answer your question, no, I don't think we should descend to swift-boating. Our political discourse is already so low, we shouldn't sink it any deeper. Just my two cents.

what someone else does in the privacy of their bedroom, as long as it's done alone or with with other consenting adults.

My interest will pique, of course, if he resigns over the matter. I don't expect that to happen, though. I'm seeing a lot of voyeuristic gossip that as you imply, might well have originated from speculation alone.

In other words, I don't care if it's true or not, I just want him to resign.

I think the diaper story may have originated in the, ahem, bowels of the blogosphere, but I'm so sick of these repukes, if the only way the story, uh, runs is through speculation, so be it. He did, after all, and at the least, hire hookers, despite claiming to be a DEPENDable family values candidate who LUVS Jesus and rails against defeatocrats PAMPERing islamofacists terrarists. I don't think we should be crying for him or giving him any HUGGIES.
