and beat the living shit out of this asshat.
I am SO FUCKING TIRED of Republicans telling me how I feel about Iraq. This guy is a total dipshit. He's insinuating that I, as an American, am upset that there is a debate in the Senate about the war. Fuck you asshole. And if I was standing in front of you, you wouldn't get a god damn word in edgewise, because I'd tell you how a real American feels.

19. Well, he is a Hall Of Famer. |
|
He pitched a perfect game for the Phillies against the original New York Mets - the team that lost 120 games with the likes of Marv Throneberry playing for them. How that qualifies someone to be a United States Senator...oh yeah...Kentucky. Never mind.

I can't believe this guy is a Senator. "If we leave Iraq, they will follow us home"
There should be a rule on the Senate floor - Anybody this stupid has to sit down and shut up.

Turkey. Turkeys. Squawking -- lots of squawking -- Beirut's in Lebanon, isn't it? I hope no one there is allergic to turkeys.
I like turkeys. They're really yummy at Thanksgiving. Is it cold at Thanksgiving? What happens if it snows on the Easter eggs? Maybe they're turkey eggs.
I like eggs. They're so round. Time to read another 3 X 5 card Mr. McConnell gave me. He said it was important to keep reading the little cards. I wish there were turkeys on these cards.

Otherwise I think he'd just babble in phonetic syllables. No words or sentences. Just sounds.
I quite honestly do not believe Senator Bunning knows where he is at any given moment.

Bunning is a former professional baseball player. He then parlayed his fame as a baseball player into an unsuccessful run for Kentucky governor (or was it Lieutenant Governor?) in 1983 and a successful run for U.S. House in 1986.
Bunning was elected in 1998 to the US Senate by narrowly defeating then-fellow Rep. Scotty Baesler in the closest Senate race of that year.
It has been widely reputed that Bunning isn't exactly an intellectual and shows little apparent interest in any legislation not related in some way to sports.

15. He'll probably retire. |
|
Bunning just barely won in 2004 due to his obvious reduced mental faculties. State Senator Daniel Mongiardo (now the Democratic nominee for Lieutenant Governor) went from trailing by 30 percentage points to losing by a mere whisker.
The only reason he's still around is because the early favourite, former Governor Paul Patton, was forced to abondon his own Senate bid after his affair with the owner of a nursing home became public and ruined his popularity.

Way back in 2004, Bunning refused to debate his Democratic opponent, Daniel Mongiardo. It was rumoured at the time he was going senile and wasn't sentient enough to win a debate.
He lost a lot of support because of that and went from a shoo-in to winning by less than 1 percentage point.

One damn "perfect game" and he's qualified for the Senate. Sigh.

21. Bunning is my Senator |
|
He also brought about major furor throughout the state during the last election when he joked at a Republican fund-raiser that Mongiardo (who is of Italian extraction) "looks like one of Saddam Hussein's sons." This remark came at a time shortly after both sons were captured and killed.
A debate as to Bunning's dementia raged across the state during this time, but it appears the majority of the voters didn't deem it advanced enough to get rid of him.
Mongiardo, however, is a shoe-in as our next Lieutenant Governor; polls show he and his running mate are trouncing the crooked Republican machine now in the statehouse.

He'd be Senator Mongiardo now. Of all the defeats in 2004, that race stung the most, because the seat was ours for the taking.

If anyone hasn't noticed, the Rupubliklans regularly dip into the pool of clueless/high name recognition jocks to run for elective office. Not that the non -celebrity Repubs are any better, and in every case, its too easy to just criticize the politicians (not that they don't richly deserve the criticism) and give a pass to the millions of morans who vote for 'em. My god, that party is represented on every level by at best, ignorant jackasses, and at worst, truly dangerous religious zealot/fascists (and of course, combinations thereof). And in every single case, unless I'm mistaken, those millions voted for 'em without anybody holding a gun to their heads. Just like it wasn't just Hitler in WW 2,; it took millions of fine citizens who believed everything they heard on Der Fox-Deutschland News to put him in office and turn that horror loose. Same with Bunning, Imhofe, Mcconnell ad nauseum and ad nauseating. Until somehow, the morans finally get a clue, the clueless, and worse, will represent them (and unfortunately, many of us ).
