Flynt says he wants to expose the hypocrisy of politicians who advocate a virtuous lifestyle for others but conduct their own affairs by a different standard. He makes a good point - since Vitter’s rhetoric about the sanctity of marriage is a classic example of “do as I say, not as I do.” However, the elitist Washington culture is rife with hypocrisy on virtually every topic. Flynt’s own hypocrisy should not be overlooked simply because he points to someone else’s indefensible acts. Consider the absurdity of Larry Flynt lecturing about the moral failures of others.

Flynt is a purveyor of filth who would castigate otherwise honorable men seduced by the provocative images he is responsible for bringing into public view. The Devil works that way, too putting temptation in the path of men only to claim victory when they succumb to it. Flynt publicly reminded Vitter of his sins even though he confessed them long ago. The Devil does that, too. The name “Satan” comes from the Hebrew word meaning “the accuser.”

I know of no statement on Flynt's business dealings where he says otherwise. Flynt is not a hypocrite, and Gannon is (yet again) making a pig bottom of himself.

Day of Prayer Is A Bust In Washington

No one showed up for the "Bible Reading Marathon" on the West Front of the Capitol on the National Day of Prayer. The part I like is this event was sponsored by a group that had that stout hearted Christian leader, Jeff Gannon, as their spokesperson. You remember, the hot military stud $200-an-hour gay escort that got press credentials in the Bush White House.

Today is a real puzzle. I go for weeks without that much to post and then a day like today comes along and the list seems endless.

We have the Christians who object to passage of H.R. 1592, `Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2007' because it adds GENDER, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, GENDER IDENTITY, OR DISABILITY- to the list of offenses. I don't know that much about Christianity since I have never been a Christian, but really, Jesus preached about the need to spread hate filled speech in the Sermon on the Mount? Gee, what was Congress thinking when it passed this secular law and outlawed religious hate crimes?

Several more prominent blogs have already reported on this, arguably making its coverage here superfluous. But it's just so hilarious that I couldn't not remark upon it. Prior to finding his way into the White House press corps, where he was essentially a plant whose role was lobbing Democrat-bashing softball questions at Bush, he was offering his services for $200 an hour at HotMilitaryStud.com, a gay online escort service. Now he's the spokesman for the International Bible Reading Association? Truly, the Lord works in mysterious ways. But then, I suppose He can afford the 200 bucks.
