Poll question: Hypothetical poll
So far I've just been promoting my chosen Presidential ticket in a real low profile manner, a "bumper sticker" in my sig-line. In an effort to step things up a bit I thought it might be time for a poll and see how DU feels about my candidates. Please vote early and often.

1. ...about Jon Stewart... (Libertarian?)
Edited on Wed Jul-18-07 09:26 AM by Flarney
He is funny and smart, no doubt, but I think he is actually a libertarian. He had a guest on in the last few months that "accused" him of being a "secular progressive" in the middle of a point he was making, and Jon seemingly corrected him by saying "or a Jewish libertarian." I don‘t know if he was just making the point of "you don't know what my affiliation is, asshole" or if he was actually saying that's what he was.

Has anyone ever seen Jon go on the record anywhere as to his political stance?

2. Making jokes about politicians and media is one thing.

Actually leading a country is another. See also: Fred Thompson and Ronald Reagan.

3. The smartest guys in the room
It's obvious Stewart and Colbert are brilliant, unlike Thompson and Ray-gun.

Imagine the cabinet they'd put together and I'd wager big that State of the Union speeches would be much more entertaining!

10. I like it! :)
Is there a way to make signature lines show here? I noticed a place to choose one in Options but don't see them when people post.

5. Could they make Lewis Black Secretary of Defense? I know I'd feel safe.

6. Stewart/Colbert...let's see.
Those are guys on the teevee, right?

I'll pass. They might be great, but I'd like media personalities to remain those "guys on teevee" that I can happily ignore.

9. Of course.
I HAVE actually seen Jon Stewart a few times; enough to know what he looks like, anyway. ;)

I think I'd prefer an OLBERMANN/Stewart ticket! Yum...:loveya:
