THREE YEARS LATE: Washington Post says Reagan died today
An online article dated July 17, 2007 in the Washington Post is headlined "Ronald Reagan Dies: 40th President Reshaped American Politics." In fact, Reagan died on June 4, 2004, a little over three years ago.

1. Does this mean we can celebrate again?
So little good happens. We must take every opportunity that arises.

2. Does this mean the GOP can have another Ron-fest?
After all, he's the guy who sent $6bn of arms to Afghanistan-based jihadis and more of the same to Iran. Ron made US policy what it is today. A fiasco.

7. If he's only now died (again)...
... maybe he can come back to life (again). This could be the answer to the GOP's nomination difficulties. I think Ron '08 could still be on the cards. We're now clearly beyond the mundane realm of reason and mortality. I think Republicans left it some time around 1980.

3. Not Reagan...everyone knows it was Gerald Ford, and he died today.

Gerald Rudolph Ford Jr., 93, who became the 38th president of the United States as a result of some of the most extraordinary events in U.S. history and sought to restore the nation's confidence in the basic institutions of government, has died. His wife, Betty, reported the death in a statement last night.

"My family joins me in sharing the difficult news that Gerald Ford, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather has passed away at 93 years of age," Betty Ford said in a brief statement issued from her husband's office in Rancho Mirage, Calif. "His life was filled with love of God, his family and his country."
