Ras POLL: Obama gaining on Hillary, down by only seven (35% - 28%)
Presidential Tracking Poll
Thursday, July 19, 2007

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll shows some movement but little change in overall dynamic of the race for the Democratic Presidential nomination. Today’s update shows New York Senator Hillary Clinton with 35% of the vote followed by Illinois Senator Barack Obama at 28%. Clinton has dropped two points while Obama picked up three. Former North Carolina Senator John Edwards slipped a point to 13% (see history). New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson is at 3%. Delaware Senator Joe Biden and Dennis Kucinich each attract 2% of the vote.

Obama continues to do best among independents likely to vote in a Democratic Primary. Clinton retains a 12-point advantage among those who are registered as Democrats.

1. But I thought Hillary was inevitable...
Because just yesterday paid supporters of hers had her up by an "insurmountable" 12 points.

Does this mean that a 12 point lead with more than six months until the first vote is cast isn't really that insurmountable after all?

4. Kucinich at only 2%?
I swear every single one of them have to be here on DU then, because it seems like there are quite a few, and I've NEVER seen a Biden supporter here, who also supposedly has 2%.

Voters are fickle and the polls are pretty meaningless at this point at any rate, although I'm sure the candidates themselves pay close attention to them.

actually know shit...The Kucinich Supporters...

After living in this country for 63 years, that sounds about right.

8. It looks like an anomaly, unless he gained 3% in one day after being at 25% for three days
Likewise, HRC was at 37% for three days until losing 2% yesterday. Let's see if this portends a new trend or is an anomaly.

17. Of course! No surprise to me...
Having to have yet meet anyone for Senator Clinton among many interested in the election, it's about time the polls start reflecting reality.

20. He is taking his time educatiing the voters on all the issues
and his stance regarding them. That will be very important in the end.

22. I think that Obama's more likely
than Hil to get the Gravel, Dodd, etc. votes -- after they drop out...

Kucinich will get all of the Kucinich votes...And a few of the Gravel, etc. votes too...

So these numbers at this stage are Foma -- meaningless hot air...
