2. The conspiracy nut in me has other ideas.

The only way that Cheney's ever going to get his way with attacking Iran is if they were to attack us first.

Nothing would get the average, uninformed American up in arms for an attack on Iran, like the assassination of GWB. If this were to happen, and it were "proven" to be the Iranians, few would say no to hitting them back.

And how sentimental would it be for President Cheney to appoint Jeb as the new VP?

And all of a sudden, he's the incumbent for 2008.

Just a late night, sleep deprived conspiracy. :-)

7. Harrowing thought, but not beyond the realm of their evildoing.
Certainly right now their "line-up" looks very weak. Total losers, the lot of them.

Nothing is sacred when it comes to their maintaining power. They are so conniving, ANYTHING is possible!

8. It's the only way that ANYBODY will ever think of him in a positive light...

He'd have to become a "martyr" to the cause of terrorism.

3. I've said it all along, Jeb WILL be the 2008 GOP nominee
Everyone is self destructing and nobody is going to have a majority of delegates at the GOP convention. There is going to be a lot of bad blood spilled from the current gang of idiots running. All Jeb has to do is sit on the sidelines till the last minute then his family will make sure that he becomes the "compromise candidate".

4. Oh, yeah. Like THAT will work.
Put a Bush on the ticket and you might as well just HAND the job to whoever the Democratic candidate turns out to be.

5. In the end, right now, I think Guilliani will bag the nomination
He is getting the approval of rank and file Christian Right.

As Richard Land , Executive at top of Southern Baptist Convention,
many of our members see him as the Gop Candidate who can best
fight Terrorism, most leadership qualities and most importantly
beat Hilary Clinton.

Winning trumps all those hot button issues.

For Christian Right their 2 issues this election Terrorism and Economy.
Abortion is down on their list of priorities.

Guilliani promises them Strict Constructionist Judges.

18. The ironic thing about a Giuliani nomination...
Edited on Fri Jul-20-07 06:53 AM by skids
...would be that it brings all the 9/11 fishy goings-on in as a major campaign issue. How can people ignore stuff like WTC7 when he's being attacked for stuff like the dumbass move of locating the anti-terror crisis center close to the most well known terrorist target in the whole damn city?

I'm kinda ambivalent. I'd hate to see Giuliani one step closer, not that I think Rs will win but who knows if they have a way to steal it. On the other hand, Giuliani is such an uber-joke of a candidate once the chrome wears off... and there are so incredibly many damning stories from NY about him... but then so was shrub I guess.

13. I doubt it
John Roberts has no constituency. No name recognition, even. Never once has run for office.

And Jeb as Chief Justice? He's not even a lawyer - that's not a requirement, but the Senate certainly wouldn't approve him.

"WAAAAHH! TERRI AND TOM AND GEORGIE HAVE MESSED UP MY PRESIDENCY!"

"Tom DeLay made me look bad by getting caught conspiring to use Terri Schiavo to save his own political neck, AND by not admitting that he'd disconnected his own vegetative father the year before Terri got sick! The state police made me look bad by telling the local police that I was planning to violate the spirit of the court order by rescuing Terri! And big brother Georgie made me look bad by interrupting his vacation in Texas to sign Terri's Law, leaving behind a baby to die because he didn't have any money! Now I could get impeached, my religious fanatic base is mad at me, and the Democrats are gloating instead of being shamed by the mainstream media that they didn't take a more public stand. I'M TELLING MY DADDY ON THEM! WAAAAAAHHHHH!"

16. I think Charlie Crist will put the nail in the coffin for Jebbles. Crist is
making Jebbles look like the weak-kneed corporate puke he was. The press never reported how the average working Floridian felt about Jeb. They only reported what the retirees living in gated communities had to say.

We are now watching Crist try to undo 8 years of neglect and mismanagement.
