Prominent Madison lobbyist Bill Broydrick has been linked to the so-called "D.C. Madam" sex scandal in Washington, phone records indicate.

Reached today at his Washington office, Broydrick said he had no comment.

"I have nothing to say on the record," he said.

Calls to the number that appeared on Palfrey's phone records showed that the number is Broydrick's.

A former state lawmaker and longtime Democratic activist, Broydrick is considered one of the most influential lobbyists in Wisconsin and Washington.

Broydrick and Associates, the firm owned by Broydrick and his wife, Cynthia, consistently ranks among the highest-paid lobbying firms in the state and has offices in Madison, Washington and Tallahassee, Fla.

Broydrick's Wisconsin clients include the Association of State Prosecutors, the Milwaukee Children's Hospital, the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewer District and Waste Management Inc.

Broydrick has also long been active in Democratic politics. Campaign finance records show he has already given more than $5,000 to Democratic candidates for national office across the country.
