27. I understand the desire
but we don't yet have the means.

Impeaching now will result in his acquittal in the Senate - thus it won't change a damned thing for the better. It will make things worse - he will have been acquitted, thus giving tacit approval to his actions. And if, by some miracle, he WAS convicted, Cheney would be President. Not any better. And if you think for a moment that the Senate would vote to remove both Bush and Cheney simultaneously, then we're living in entirely different realities.

Frustrating, I know.

I know about HR 333. It's not exactly catching on fire in the House, and nobody has yet told me which 18 republican Senators will vote for removal.

16. Enough of the American public pounding on GOP reps on the Hill
That is what it will take. The DEMS are working on getting more and more info out to the people, but THE PEOPLE have to do their part too. The people have to make sure the GOP on the Hill fear them more than they fear cheney.

And I wish Larry Flynt would share the list NOW so those on it can't be blackmailed into submission by cheney any longer.

17. It will take an outright revolt at this point.
Bush and his cronies are enemies of The Constitution. They are guilty of nothing less than treason. Impeachment should only be the beginning.

19. Bi-partisan support
Plain and simple. THere will be no impeachment process commenced in the House unless and until there is some indication of bi-partisan support for commencing the process. There simply isn't enough support among blue dog and other Democrats from conservative leaning districts to pursue impeachment on a strictly partisan basis. Even the resolution to commence the Clinton impeachment process had the support of 31 Democrats (and the Nixon process began with a vote of 410-4 a year before the articles were voted on in committee).
