Just my take of course but here goes. Clearly the war can NOT last until the next election. It would devastate the GOP which for obvious reason the GOp would like to avoid. So why all the stalling now? "We need ot wait until September? Or perhaps we need to wait until October, after all the "surge was not complete, David Patraus wasn't in place" yda yda yda. Here is my guess. The GOp wants the war to continue until after the bulk of the primary elections. They will be more then happy to see the war be the big issue in the primary's then take the air out of the issue be for the general election. Ending the war will leave the anti war majority standing flat-footed. The best case for the GOp is that we take the energy out of the Dem's and they limit their losses. Since most of the presidential primary's will be early February the war should dribble down in the first quarter of next year. Of course this does not preclude a "crises" which will bring us back to full Iraqi torturing, phone tapping election stealing crises that will last until mid NOvember.

4. This is why I hate politics. I only keep up with it because of self-preservation. |

OK, back to point one. Bush has compromised our country in so many ways beyond an extramarital BJ for which he should be impeached and held accountable. The false invasion and subsequent occupation of Iraq is just one offense to the Constitution that invites numerous charges. It’s just that clear to me.
So why all the second-guessing? That’s what pisses me off. For the pundits it’s not a matter of what the people might think. (We already know what we think and what we want to happen. Plus, we know what we can and cannot do under our Constitution.)
So why all the second-guessing? I think I answered my own question in the headline. Just like me, the pundit thinkers want to preserve their status within the media and the DC beltway. The exception is that my beltway has nothing to do with my status as a media pundit or second-guesser. My beltway is both around my block and around the world. It is about keeping me “safe” in all senses of that word.
It is about correcting our county’s image in the eyes of the world. It is about the needless deaths and life altering injuries sustained by our military for a lie. It is about equal justice for all and not commutations for cronies. It is about universal health care coverage for all. It is about federal funding for stem cell research. It is about privacy and freedom. It is about the definition of hate crimes and marriage. And so much more that this administration refuses to address because of a perceived executive privilege. That sounds pretty much like the tyrant the Declaration of Independence was railing against.
So why all the second-guessing? We know what must be done. Our Constitution tells us as much.
Impeach these tyrants. Cut off the funds for their oil grab. NOW!
PS This is not an indictment against stevebreeze. I thank you for setting me off on this tangent.
