Yesterday I Read Somewhere That * Will Be Getting Versed For His Colonoscopy........
Edited on Sat Jul-21-07 07:56 AM by global1
today. Versed is the brand name - it's generic name is Midazolam(MID-ay-zoe-lam)and it is used to produce sleepiness or drowsiness and to relieve anxiety before surgery or certain procedures like a colonoscopy. It produces a loss of consciousness before and during the procedure and when he comes to after the procedure he won't recall it.

Hey - perhaps this is what they've been giving all those *Co cronies when they come up to the Hill to testify in Dem investigations.

I don't recall. I don't recall. I don't recall. I don't recall.

Versed (Midazolam) - the drug of choice of the *Co administration - only second to Bushsed(Execprivilegealam).

1. Well, I'm glad he's having it done...
Maybe during the colonoscopy, the doc will yank out his head!

2. personally, i think versed is evil
or, more precisely, it's overuse as an alternative to narcotics and other meds is evil.

the problem i have is that the idea behind versed is that it manages the patient during a painful procedure without addressing the pain. i've seen an 8 year old kid have his upper arm bone set. he was screaming bloody murder as they manipulated his arm into place.

the doctors thought versed worked great because the kid didn't physically resist and they were able to rationalize the pain on the grounds that he won't remember it.

that he won't remember it?? that's an excuse?? pain is only a problem if you remember it??

i think there's a large dose of witness tampering in the use of versed. you can't testify if you can't remember.

now, if narcotics are contraindicated, e.g., if there's a breathing problem already, fine. but versed should not be as high up on the list as it is now.

3. That's not good
why not use acupuncture? They know that this will keep a patient from feeling pain and it doesn't have the side effects of narcotics.

10. i wasn't singling out narcotics as an advocate; there are alternatives
my point is that people are so opposed to narcotics that they consider something evil like versed to be a better choice.

i dont know much about acupuncture, but i'd guess it's better than versed.

11. Scientific studies done
have shown that it does have beneficial effects in blocking pain. The Chinese use it during surgery, and I know of one instance here in the US where it was used because the patient was highly allergic to all known anesthetics. Patient went through the surgery fine, btw.

9. There once was a unitary colon
The people's votes only to be stolen
Enabled to power by those in their robes
The doctor's cried out, let us probe, let us probe
In search of a polyp
In search of a cyst
No, just for the hell of it!

8. He got knocked out for the last one, too, I believe.
Very few people I've met felt they needed the Versed for a colonoscopy. What a wuss.
