Clinton wonkish but commanding
No, former President Bill Clinton didn't accompany her.

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton brought only staff and Secret Service when she sat down with Register editors and writers Friday afternoon.

She certainly didn't need her husband tagging along. Her presence filled the room. She was commanding and confident and repeatedly demonstrated her prowess as a self-described "policy wonk." Just like her friend Tom Vilsack.

She complimented the former governor on his "understanding of policy" and the work he did in Iowa on education, energy and health care.

"We spend a lot of time talking about wind power and the Hawk-I program," which provides health insurance for low-income Iowa children.

2. Hillary is taking command! Love it!

from the OP:

"She is willing to go that distance because she thinks change in Washington is desperately needed. Her comments had more edge than those from most other candidates. She laughed a bit, but often at the expense of the Bush administration, which has "squandered" her husband's work during the past 6 ½ years.

"We've gone from President Roosevelt with 'All we have to fear is fear itself' to a president who says, 'I want you to be afraid all the time,' for political and partisan advantage."

Who is Hillary Clinton?

"She is someone who wants to be a president who "makes it possible for us to be proud of ourselves again. And who gets back to having Americans act like Americans, where we roll up our sleeves and we set goals and we go about achieving them. When I was a little girl, that's what I thought we did in America."

She's an attorney. A mother. A wife. A bestselling author. A former first lady, of Arkansas and the nation. The first woman elected statewide in New York.

And if her confidence is rewarded at the polls, the first female president of the United States.

4. She's proving that she's a long distance runner.
Some people play out quickly or drop the ball because they get exhausted, but Hillary works harder and gets stronger the longer she goes. And I'm looking forward to seeing her shine at the youtube debate Monday night on CNN.
