Did Vitter use taxpayer money on Hookers?
As a Congressman and later a Senator, Vitter earned a salary from US Congress that is paid by us, the taxpayers. His job was to represent the state of Louisiana in Washington DC. The citizens have sent him to DC to serve them as a lawmaker, not so that he could visit brothels and waste taxpayer money on hookers. His other source of income was likely from fundraisers and interest groups, I'm sure they are displeased that he is spending their money on sexual perversions.

While I think there is some leeway on personal income, whether you spend it on drugs, hookers, or gambling. Its just as important as a Congressman who has a sworn duty to uphold the nations laws, to not engage in illegal activity.

He needs to resign because:
(1) he was using taxpayer money on hookers
(2) he engaged in illegal activities and transactions
(3) he engaged in immoral conduct and infidelity; and is a hypocrite
(4) he needs to be publicly punished for his sins

1. Taxpayer money would be better spent on hookers than Iraq.

2. Once he receives his paycheck
it's not taxpayer money. It's his money.

3. I concur...and it is up to the voters of LA to deal w/this situation...
I don't give a hoot & holler about hookers, it is the hypocrisy that needs to be highlighted. In virtually every case of this nature that pops up, the hypocrisy is so evident, that it just boils over.

I have a real problem w/people who try to destroy others, and yet are more guilty than those they try to crush.

4. You don't know how he paid for the hookers
Vitter hasn't disclosed anything. Perhaps he's waiting for the deposition, or for Flynt to expose him.

1-When and how often did he meet with hookers? Did he ignore his duties for these trysts?
2-Did he ever meet with hookers in DC or NO when he became a Senator?
3-Did lobbyists ever pay for the prostitutes?
4-Was he ever blackmailed by lobbyists or others and forced to vote in a way that benefited these interests groups?

I think we need to put him under oath and determine who are the other people involved. If the circle widens to lobbyists.

But of course he will be compelled to testify in the Palfrey trial. Or maybe he will plead the fifth?
