I got a response from Conservative Idiot number 25A
Check out #25: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=103x296086

---------

I emailed carl wimmer and included his part of the Conservative Idiots #25, a brief review of SiCKO and the information from the SiCKO facts pages at Michael Moore's website.

I got the following back from him:

---------

Dearest Socialists,

While I know your hero Karl Marx would be proud of your attempt to bring communist ideals to the U.S, not to mention your trashy language; I am unimpressed....Please send your drivel to someone who is actually uneducated, so that you might actually convince them that destroying America with communism is good....

As for me, don't email me again or I will block your email address.

Representative Wimmer
House District 52

----------------

WOOHOO, carl wimmer's gonna put me on ignore!!!! Do I get a medal or something???

All let all of you "Socialists" decide what you'd like to do...

----------------

I've just replied:

What trashy language?
I just want my brothers and sisters and me and your brother to have reliable, inexpensive Health Care...
That ain't gonna happen as long as the greedy for-profit health INSURANCE companies are involved...

You might want to check out what you're opposing:

The United States National Health Insurance Act, H.R. 676
(“Expanded & Improved Medicare For All”)

(and then I included the summary from John Conyer's health care page)

Ah, but you were lucky. It was a special 300th edition expanded to the top 30. Any other week you wouldn't have made the list at all...

I must admit you're much more civil than your fellow #25 -- wimmer the cop...

Don't be on the wrong side of history on this subject... The rest of the industrialized world has decided that their citizens DESERVE health CARE...not insurance, CARE and that the for-profit industries should have little or NOTHING to do with health care...

In 2005, Pearce was embroiled in controversy when his press secretary was found to have plagiarized several articles from think tanks like the Heritage Foundation. The articles were published under Pearce's name in small papers throughout New Mexico. His press secretary resigned shortly after the story broke.

Include the whole exchange. Maybe it'll wake up a few people (I know...it's Utah, reddest state in the land of the Free) to just how cavalier and uncaring their rep is, not to mention rude.

Gee, it would be nice if these guys could figure out the differences between socialism, communism, fascism, and ordinary common compassion for those less fortunate than oneself. The distinctions between the first three could perhaps be taught but how on earth do you teach compassion to the 'I-got-mine-and-so-despise-you' crowd? Their mommas should have taken care of it. Too late now, I guess.

26. The symptom
And once again, sadly, it is important to remember that the ...ahem.. honorable Mr. Wimmer didn't become a state representative by osmosis... The blame lies , as always, with the self-evidently ignorant jerks who freely chose to vote for him. He, and all the others like him, are the symptom, not the disease. If not Wimmer, it'd be someone else. But I unfortunately can't envision a time when enough people laugh at ignoramuses like him to cast them into history's trash-heap, where they belong. I suppose we all know people that would vote for people like him, but it really is mind-boggling to realize how many of them are out there. My brain hurts just thinking about it...

30. I just sent this to the Newspaper Reporters
who wrote the article... http://www.sltrib.com/ci_6400537

-----------

I emailed Rep. Wimmer yesterday and attempted to persuade him in a civil manner, with facts, that it would be better for the entire community if we had universal health care.

I though you might like to see his response:

---------------

Dearest Socialists,

While I know your hero Karl Marx would be proud of your attempt to bring communist ideals to the U.S, not to mention your trashy language; I am unimpressed....Please send your drivel to someone who is actually uneducated, so that you might actually convince them that destroying America with communism is good....

Representative Wimmer
House District 52

============

I guess that would be a no for Universal Health Care, right Carl?

It would be nice for his constituents to know about their obviously unstable representative...don't you think?

I then responded to Mr. Wimmer with this email:

===========

What trashy language?

I just want my brothers and sisters and me and your brother to have reliable, inexpensive Health Care...

That ain't gonna happen as long as the greedy for-profit health INSURANCE companies are involved...

<<summary of HR676>>

============

I didn't get a response from Mr. Wimmer. I guess I'm on Carl's blacklist now...

============

On the other hand, Mr. Daw responded with humor and a rational attempt to persuade me that his view was the correct one.

It isn't, but that's ok, he was decent about it...

He seems to be someone with whom one could hold a rational discussion on the subject.

Thanks for the article;

State leaders pass on Moore's 'Sicko' prescription for health care system
By Kirsten Stewart and Lisa Rosetta
The Salt Lake Tribune
Article Last Updated: 07/19/2007 04:39:32 PM MDT
Physician and attorney Clark Newhall holds leftover... (Danny Chan La/The Salt Lake Tribune )

Correction: Orem Republican Rep. Bradley Daw compared filmmaker Michael Moore to Joseph Goebbels. The quote was incorrectly attributed to a different lawmaker in Wednesday's Tribune.
Utah Rep. Carl Wimmer skipped Tuesday's free screening of "Sicko," Michael Moore's documentary on the failings of America's health care system.
The Herriman Republican had spent his day drumming up donations for his younger brother, who has no health coverage to pay for expensive cancer treatments.
Though personally touched by the plight of the nation's uninsured and underinsured, Wimmer has "no interest" in the movie, which he doubts will drive reform.
"Michael Moore's movies are full of lies and half-truths and I don't see how this will be any different," said Wimmer. "Until we have a firm grasp on the problem, I don't think anyone will be able to solve it."
The free screening was arranged by physician and attorney Clark Newhall, who had invited more than 100 state leaders. The no-shows included Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr., dozens of state lawmakers, the president of the Utah Medical Association, and the CEOs of Intermountain Health Care and Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah.
Among the handful who did attend: state insurance commissioner Kent Michie and two lawmakers, Democratic Reps. David Litvack of Salt Lake City and Larry Wiley of West Valley City.
