Poll question: Which candidate did the best job in tonight's YouTube Video debate?

Not who do you support ---- But for TONIGHT's YouTube/CNN debate only, which of the candidate's knocked it out of the park?

8. As usual, the MSM picks Hillary, the people pick Obama
Hasn't it been this way every debate? The polls and focus groups have always shown Obama doing well (either 1st or 2nd) and yet the media always gives it to Hillary and even tries to say that Obama didn't do well. What's up with this?

18. Please!
The first debate Hillary even won in a DU poll! (Yes that even shockecked me). Kind of shoots the hell out of your answer.

20. A SurveyUSA poll of the first debate showed Obama winning
Edited on Mon Jul-23-07 08:47 PM by maximusveritas
"Obama was selected as the winner by 31 percent of those who said they watched the debate. Sen. Hillary Clinton finished in 2nd place, picked as the winner by 24 percent of viewers."
http://www.wyff4.com/politics/13208381/detail.html

I place more trust in that than in a DU poll.

Edited to make it clear this poll was of the first debate, not tonight's.

He came out strong and aggressive against powerful corporate interests, and everyone else followed his lead.

10. Hillary gave the most astute answer on the meeting w/foreign dictators..
Sending an advance team to test the waters, if she were president.

That imo, was the question of the night and her answer was most presidential.

he did answer the questions truthfully and directly. I think it was a real breakthrough using the questions of the people instead of the news media.

And there are too many candidates on stage.

IMO they all had their moments and their stumbles.

hands down. Strong, confident, informed. The focus groups seem to agree. It's gonna be an Obama-Clinton ticket.

He has enough experience for that but not the Presidency. I am leaning toward Hillary myself. The more I see...the more I like. But I am still not sure.

33. Wow Katz.... you saw something that most Americans evidently didn't see...
Edited on Mon Jul-23-07 09:16 PM by larissa

~ ~ ~

However, the MSM would be proud of you for saying that (as well as William, Elizabeth, etc..)

I simply didn't see it. Not tonight anyway.

Her response about being called a "liberal" was lame. I'm sorry -- but it was. She also droned on with some responses causing Anderson to constantly hound her to cut it off!

I did really like her response to the Bush > Clinton > Bush > Clinton question and thought she received the loudest applause with that answer!

Surprisingly (for me anyway).. I really liked Dodd tonight. I disagree with the CNN pundit who said he sounded like he was on the floor of the senate.

Kucinich was on fire.. but then again, when isn't he on fire?

Richardson blew it out of the water on NCLB (and reportedly did awesome in the Nevada focus group), but he didn't have the time he needed to clarify his position on removing the troops this year.

Gravel was feisty and usually to the point when he got around to answering his questions. But dammitall, he needs to quit whining that he's being dissed in comparison to the other candidates. Loved his response about taking the train and bus though!

Biden was great on Iraq.. but sure was dragging his religious upbringing into the debate a LOT tonight.

Edwards did pretty good IMO.. but the comment about Hillary's coat was silly. I do disagree with Ruggerson though about Edward's response to gay marriage.

I can see why so many in the general public liked Obama's approach. If you've ever watched General Clark speak, he's a LOT like him in his delivery. Thoughtful and deliberate in every single word.

~~~ All in all, they all did good.
28. Depends on what you mean by the "best job."
Kucinich and Gravel did the best job of speaking the truth.
Some of the others did well in furthering their campaigns ~ one example of that would be Edwards finally using his attorney background to his advantage in pointing out that he knows how to take on the big boys.
