Poll question: Who won the debate tonight?
If you watched the debate, who won?

1. None of them!
If they did not take a position on impeachment of Bush & Cheney, then NONE of them won!

14. Hardly a fair requirement...as they weren't ASKED about
impeachment.

5. I like Obama the best
but I thought Clinton came out looking better in the debate. She is excellent at it and provided terrific answers to everything. This format made her look more human and showed she has a sense of humor.

7. The debate was a disgrace!
It was a pathetic side show. Most of the questioners looked like low life trash. Don't ever again use this sort of format. No one scored any points in this fiasco, especially CNN and You Tube.

12. Another Q&A Session....
Edwards suggestion about smaller groups is looking pretty good, wouldn't you say?

22. Screw Edwards!
Let the candidates decide themselves when it's time to pull the pin. Not 2 arrogant people like Edwards and Hillary.

23. Niccce response.....
Do you kiss your mother with that mouth? I was only commenting that the so called "debate" format isn't really a debate. If you took the time to read up on what Edwards had meant, I think you wouldn't be so pissed. He wants all of the candidate involved, but to have a true debate format, with smaller groups. It's not pulling the "pin", for as the format is currently going, does anyone really know how their choice will stack up?

15. not sure... maybe Clinton/Obama/Richardson
Clinton and Obama both did a very good job.

Obama had his audience, and perhaps a younger question base helped?

Clinton was solid all around (I didn't like all her answers, but she was confident in them, like a president).

Edwards was good, but I think he might have lost some support on his struggle to answer the gay marriage question (otherwise he seems to the left of the other 2, and I think that's his main appeal?)

Richardson was solid, very vice presidential, which I think he is hoping for at this point with his extensive intl experience.

Biden, well, maybe I just don't like him personally... he seemed to be going for the right of center crowd, eh.

The other 3 might as well have been random questioners as they barely got any air time... I suppose the M$S has already chosen for us.

I liked Kucinich pushing to get air-time for DO SOMETHING NOW!, which is perhaps all he can hope for at this point.

Dodd was good, but not much time... I think he could be selected for another cabinet position as long as he doesn't point too many fingers early on, and now he has more name recognition.

Gravel kept it light... is that his goal now?

19. Nobody.
First of all, for their to be a "winner" and "losers," each candidate would have to be given equal time to answer every question. Please note this:

To pretend that there was some sort of fair contest between candidates going on here is ludicrous. Shit, Cooper got more talking time than 3/4 of the candidates.

Secondly, I know that many, many questions about impeachment were submitted. None were shown, although we got questions about "your favorite teacher." :eyes:

Impeachment IS a current hot button issue. Why gag it?

Nobody "won." You have to have a just, fair, transparent process to produce a "winner."

Actually, your graphic above is from a previous debate. Here's the correct time clock:

If that doesn't work, chart is halfway down the page here.

I'd seen it, but I snatched it too quickly from Dodd's site.

And you're right. It IS a joke. Just not a very funny one.
