1. I won't waste any time considering ...
Anyone who isn't in the race. It's like Thompson on the other side ... crap or get off the pot.

5. If Gore got into the race, I would switch from John Edwards to Mike Gravel.

Just kidding!

The real answer is I have no idea whether I would switch from John Edwards or not.

6. Since I haven't chosen a candidate, I can't switch, but I wouldn't support Gore immediately.
I'd still want to hear debate. Gore is playing it well, becoming a statesman who many people will treat with greater deference if he does enter the race. That's good for him, and he'd be immediately on my short list. But I'd still want a debate, and I'd still make my decisions based on everyone.

So far, for me, it's Clinton, Richardson, Gore if he enters, and an outside possibility of Obama, though his lack of experience is just about a deal-breaker for me. (No, his experience as a state senator does not count for me--I've known too many state senators).

10. "I'd still want a debate"
My guess is that Gore would too....

That's what a return to reason and a marketplace of ideas should look like....

15. I think the candidates now want a debate, but sadly, with so stinkin' many on the stage
all we are getting is a swap of bumper sticker slogans and carefully crafted applause lines. Put Gore up there now, and things wouldn't get any better. The best debate will start when the stage gets narrowed to a three or four, at most.

But yeah, I think Gore would love the chance to debate and discuss the issues in depth with the other candidates. I also think that would quickly eliminate all but a couple from serious contention. There are only two candidates I think could hold their own with Gore on the issues if the discussion got past page one.

And though I don't think he has the actual job experience yet, wouldn't a philosophical ideological debate between Obama and Gore be a think to watch?

7. I would immediately support Gore...
...and rejoice at the sudden onset of ulcerative colitis among the Republicans should he announce...

9. Slightly unfair question - but it would have to be Gore
Because it would depend on what Al Gore said about his reasons for deciding to seek the Democratic nomination, and what he would do as President for the next 8 years.

The whole point of having primaries is that a candidate has to earn our support.

But I agree absolutely that Gore is better qualified than all of the current candidates.

That's why I think GORE-OBAMA would be our strongest possible ticket in 2008.

Second choice: CLARK-OBAMA (I expect Wes Clark to announce in September)

Third choice: EDWARDS-OBAMA (Edwards seems to be more ready that he was in 2004)

Then Obama for President in 2016. B-)

11. I clicked on "Would switch to Gore" but I lied...
I can't "switch" to Gore, because I am all Gore all the time. I'll get busy picking someone else in the Fall if I have to...

I like Edwards best among those currently in the game.

12. Affecting DUers voting won't affect the race at all.
The important thing is the rank and file of the Democratic Party, in which Gore will be an also-ran if he announces.

13. I would jump to Gore..
... in a heartbeat, however, at this point I think the likelihood he will run is very very low.

14. Gore wouldn't run against Clinton..
IMO he would run only if Hillary dropped out. Edwards and Richardson would probably drop out if Gore announced.

16. I'd probably still be undecided
I'd have to see how it would play out. Though, I would certainly be leaning towards Gore.

17. I would have to switch from Al Gore to Albert Gore
because Albert sounds more Presidential, on the other hand Paul Simon's you can call me Al song matches up better with Al Gore. So I'm kind of in a quandary here.
