~snip~ Taylor is a loyal Republican who has served as a top lawyer for both Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales and former Attorney General John Ashcroft. He was originally appointed interim U.S. attorney by Gonzales under a law that was repealed by Congress this spring because it did not allow the Senate to approve his appointment. He was later nominated by Bush, although the Senate has yet to confirm him officially.

Some legal experts believe Taylor might have to disqualify himself from participating in any investigation into the contempt charge because of his close ties to the administration. He once occupied a fifth-floor office at the Justice Department that was just a few doors away from that of former Gonzales counsel D. Kyle Sampson -- a principal figure in the prosecutor purge who later resigned. ~snip~

1. Is it up to HIM to disqualify himself because of ethics, or is there some
law that says HE MUST? I've given up on any ethics existing in this admin or anyone associated with it!

3. you can put money on him doing bush's bidding. He won't disqualify
himself because it would would be seen as disloyalty on his part.

4. here's the leverage point
"He was later nominated by Bush, although the Senate has yet to confirm him officially."

How can he act in such an important matter, when he has not been confirmed to his job?
