Clinton As Kucinich??
From NBC's Domenico Montanaro
Didn't Hillary Clinton vote for the war in Iraq on the basis, in part, that there were WMD in Iraq? But her YouTube debate "ad" highlighted one of the left's talking points of "failures" of the Bush administration -- that there were "zero" WMD found. We've noted her metamorphosis of sorts. Will any candidates hold her feet to the fire? And will it work? Or is the best person to define her, well, her.

1. Not in this lifetime.
She doesn't have the credentials or the integrity to win the left's votes.

3. So what would you do if she's the nominee?
Edited on Tue Jul-24-07 06:35 PM by AndreaCG
Not vote, which is a default vote for the Republicans? Vote 3rd party, also a default vote for the Rs? or would you take some positive minded action to support the left wing side of the Democratic Party, to make sure the Democratic nominee takes more progressive stands on the issues? (Progressive being the word Hillary used to define herself last night. Or is that a bad term?)

4. I have 15 months or so to make that decision, don't I?
Edited on Tue Jul-24-07 06:53 PM by LWolf
And it is MY decision. Frankly, if I feel the need to have someone advise or judge my choices, I'll be sure to ask. Thanks for your interest, though.

"Not vote" is not on my list of options. I always vote.

I've taken plenty of positive action to support the left-wing of the Democratic party, thanks. The question is really: "Will you feel justified in sticking with the Democratic Party, hoping that all of the efforts of the left-wing side of the party will someday, somehow, bear fruit?"

I don't have an answer to that question at this point in time.

I frankly don't believe that the nominee, if it turns out to be a dlc candidate, is going to give a rat's ass about the left wing of the party.

Hillary used the term "progressive," because it's been co-opted by the dlc.

Or haven't you browsed the "progressive policy institute?"

http://www.ppionline.org/index.cfm

The DLC is as "progressive" as war is "peace," and right is "left."

Of course, "progressive" can be defined as working for any kind of progress. In those terms, fascists can be "progressive." PNAC can be "progressive."

5. Voting for Hillary is voting for a moderate Republican.

She was president of the Young Republicans at Wellesley. Calling herself a progressive doesn't make her one.

2. That Montanaro dude is depriving some restaurant of a floor scrubber.
With logic like his.

So, because Clinton took Bush's misinformation at face value, she can't criticize him for lying, or for his abysmal failures? Wow. Poor Al Franken. Joe Biden. John Edwards. Etc.

Then he springs the classic Republican trap. After the Republicans have spent several years trying to make liberals believe she was a conservative, now that people see her and realize she isn't, the cry will be "Look! She's metamorphosing to win votes! You can't trust her!"

Like her or not, Democrats need to fight this kind of crap.
