Hillarites are on full force, going after Obama with everything... |
|
Hillary is also going at him with everything... maybe she felt a sting last night and wants to get even?
I say- let's get it on. Hillary, Obama- don't be afraid to spar. Now is the time to see who has the bigger guns.

He threw jabs at her, but nothing like her response today. I honestly didn't anticipate Hillary's willingness to come back and openly start the war of words.

but perhaps naive.
I just don't understand how anybody who's ever been through an election can act all surprised when candidates go after each other.
Is the attack you're talking about the one where she called obama's comments "naive and irresponsible"? That's pretty small potatoes as far as political attacks go.

It's appropriate. The majority of people barely will sit through a few minutes of these debates right now. Maybe more as the field narrows and the primaries loom closer. But you have to distinguish your self from the other candidates. I'm not even a Hillary fan. But if there are differences between you and an opponent on important issues, you had doggone well better emphasize what they are. Was the language a little harsh? Yes. But that's the only way it will make the news and catch anyone's attention. Like I said, I'm hardly a fan for hers, but I respect her for drawing a line in the sand and helping us distinguish differing positions now, as a result of this exchange. Interestingly, as a result of Hillary throwing down the gauntlet, they are both somewhat locked into their positions. Not totally. But now with Hillary in essense calling him naive or even stupid, it's pretty unlikely OBama would ever backtrack and say that he's seen the light---Hillary was right all along.

It's way too long a process for people to be calling each other names. We're all Democrats. It's a primary.
I don't have a dog in the fight yet. I just don't care for, what seems to me, derogatory names. Maybe it's just me.

Hillarites is two letters away from "Hitlerites," a very common term to describe supporters of Hitler. It also sounds similar. While it seems to be being used naively here, it was not "cooked up" that way.

I really don't think you mean any harm by it. Though it doesn't have as pleasant a ring to it as "Obamaniac."
What bothers me is the people who refer to the Hillary supporters as Hillarybots or Hillbots or somesuch - I find it really ironic since, in my mind, many of those who have used that term are some of the worst offenders on the Obama side. Thus, I find their use of "Hillbot" generally hypocritical. That's what bothers me. So I now refer to them as "Obamabots," but it's definitely not blanket term for all Obama supporters! :)

because I don't want to be a hypocrite. People who call us "Hillarybots" seek to create bad blood, and do not care to have civil discussion with someone who disagrees with them. Fortunately, there are not too many of them, but it is getting very old......

|
He and his supporters continue to showcase his campaign numbers as cover for his failing campaign. After every debate, the nation realizes he's no JFK, MLK, RFK.. yet they keep trying to cram him down our throats as some kind of messiah..
John Edwards is the threat to Obama not Hillary. Hillary can barely see him in the distance, she so far ahead of him in the polls. As I said in another thread, Edwards is challenging Obama and he doesn't even see it coming.. Hillary is going to swing from the right and Edwards is going to pull the rug right out from under Obama. You wait, their nuanced, doublespeak hero will be spinning like a cuisinart before he tumbles.

48. It's a downright shame |
|
that Hillary Clinton, the so-called front runner has the "deer in the headlights" disposition because the Barack Obama train is pressing full steam ahead right past her. I knew from the start that Hillary has never faced stiff competition in her political life and now it shows. True leaders and competitors stay on their game plan and continually step their game up, not resort to old Republican tactics, trashing rivals in the media the next day and dispatch one of your cronies (Madeline Albright) to try to keep this fabricated controversy going. It was noted on a CNN news story today about "Political Body Language" that when Hillary was listening to her opponents talk last night, she nods her head in approval but when Obama speaks, she does not nod, she just stands there staring, waiting like a cockroach in the dark for the lights to come on so she can scurry a negative response or throw a barb.
It is a shame that this so-called seasoned politician (being first lady does not count) has to rely on gutter politics in order to keep her competitors at bay, especially when she flip flopped and gave the same response to a question similar to Obama's last night in 2006. True front runners should not have to stoop to that level but it says a lot about her planned strategic manipulation of the American people and lack of character and integrity. I guess she learned her political savvy from her role model, Bill. Barack Obama is demonstrating his true professionalism, political skill, and genuine concern for america. One of his platform agenda points is about changing the way politics operates in D.C. and Hillary's display is a prime example of that change, using "swift boat" type tactics. Besides, this little dust up created by Hillary will be old news by the end of tomorrow's news cycle. It did not help her in any way shape or form, it only exposed her. Bottom Line: Hillary Clinton is scared.

You know as well as I do that her campaign is steadily losing steam and she is looking over her shoulder, especially after Monday night. The media drives her front runner status and you know that. There is plenty time left in this process for Obama to handily overtake Hillary and that's a fact. It's funny how you Hillary supporters have this religious blind faith in someone who panders to you daily, make false promises and is all D.C. establishment and special interest with no emphasis on the needs of the American people, only her career goals. No different than an Evangelist systematically leading his flock of believers who thinks that he will heal them if you only believe (but don't forget to donate). What a bunch of bullshit! But I guess if the blogger shoes fits...... well, you know what I'm saying and hopefully your prayers will be answered. I'll be happy for you.

|
time has come and gone........
Would you pay $50,000 to meet Oprah? Frankly, it's laughable......
I used to like her, but her ego is just to out there.......
I don't even blame her, there's just something that happens to people over time when they have power and money.
I'm still waiting for her to run for congress and use her fame for something more than a platform for her own ego, pet projects, and charitable tax deduction's.
Time will tell......who the people are that will rat her out.
I guess the last straw was her stopping her own father from publishing a book he wrote about her. I'm sure he would have let her read it first. She's so damn insecure.
I think she would buy the presidency for Obama if she could!

65. And Obama has serious competition from a candidate who is closer to him than BO is to HRC... |
|
Edited on Tue Jul-24-07 11:13 PM by draft_mario_cuomo
Ah, the audacity of an 11 point lead in the national polls, an 11 point deficit in Iowa (an unimportant primary state next to Illinois), 14 point lead in NH, 4 point lead in NV, 9 point advantage in SC, 4 point advantage in FL, 7 point gap in CA, and a 4 point lead in NY. How does Obama fare versus HRC? -13 in the national polls, -7 in Iowa, -11 in NH, -20 in Nevada, -15 in SC, -24 in FL, -21 in CA, -31 in NY. The average gap between Obama and Edwards is 4.4% in these early states, plus the two big Super Tuesday prizes. The average difference between Obama and HRC? 18.4%. If Obama is "serious competition" for HRC surely Edwards is "serious competition" for Obama...
Obama supporters love to point out that the front-runner lost in 2004 as they dismiss HRC's commanding early lead. That is true. What many Obama supporters--especially those who are dreaming that this is now a two-way race--ignore is that the second place candidate (Clark) also lost...

71. Although I don't agree with you draft_mario_cumo, I respect your dedication and persistence. |
|
You're seemingly one mega-driven *man with a mission.* :patriot:
Although it's understood that you're a tireless soldier in support of Edwards, I wish you'd choose to promote Edwards more, instead of finding reasons to slam Obama.
If Obama wins the Democratic Nomination, I hope you will seriously consider compromising and joining our team as I would readily support Edwards if he should be so blessed. Best to you! :-) :hi:

79. Obama will do fine. The African American community will support him. |
|
People are really underestimating the African American community support for Obama. However, that is okay in our book. It will be a nice surprise in the end. There will be record turn outs. Normally only 25% of African Americans vote. Not this time around. You can be sure of that and it is not because of Hillary.

70. We'll be stronger in November 08 if our candidates competing now for |
|
the nomination are by then sturdy allies. It's pretty early, too. Senator Clinton and Senator Obama are in the 1-2 spots respectively, but in politics, the lead often shifts, sometimes more than once or twice.
I feel we're still in the early innings and that lots can still happen.
What if Clark, Gore, or Hart enter the race? What if all 3 do?
There's a dozen or so Republican candidates, all of them worthless, and I think most of our people can whip all of their people. The attrition rate among the Republican candidates is about to pick up.

Imagine you are a corporate press mover and shaker, a "decider"-- with an agenda to maintain the corporate status quo in Washington and the world at large and a big budget to help get you there.
Imagine you are repeatedly reminded who to keep in office, who to newly elect in order to insure that plan was forever viable and intact.
When the right wing of the bird is broken and flailing... you need to prop it up, make it look better. Best way to do that is to make the left wing look worse.
Imagine you had all decided (you and your cohorts in the corp press) that the best and perhaps only way to insure that your guys stay in power and survive a left wing coup, is to mightily endorse the candidate for Pres on the other side the least likely to succeed... the most polarizing, and - because you're in Info-Tainment- the one who would also provide the most entertainment value whilst being swifted. Guaranteeing a win for your guy and a good time for viewers while bringing the opposition down.
Because you not only have the budget-- you know you have the airwaves, most all of them, ergo-- the power to influence.
The Hillary formula. And the reason the Media have donated more to Hillary over the past 4 years than anyone else. A Clinton- Corpress love affair Submitted by ms in la on January 7, 2007 - 11:52pm.
