3. So why shouldn't we get behind Obama and go for victory?
Better yet, why don't we wait for the primaries, when we can all go vote for the candidate we like the most?

Nuts to this "get behind Hillary" nonsense. I'll get behind whoever I want to get behind -- and right now, it's not Hillary.

Half the crap against Obama comes from Edwards supporters. Elizabeth is hitting at Hillary because her cancer makes it harder for Hillary to hit back. Don't think Edwards' tactics aren't noticed.

As well as a bigger majority in Congress. All seem doable.

But why is that any reason to forego our right to vote and choose our own preferred candidate? So they slug it out. Big fucking deal. If they're too delicate for a primary, they ain't gonna make it in the general.

25. That makes NO sense
I do think it makes sense for the Democrats to agree to all avoid the smears and slurs - debating issues and differences. But, I certainly do not think that we should subvert democracy by simply getting behind the candidate who was the obvious party and media favorite since Nov 2004.

The Clintons were the first to start slamming other candidates - to reward her with an uncontested primary seems to send all the wrong messages.

I do see the risk in the candidates damaging each other. I also think the Edwards have had their share of attacks. Who knows - if we hate all of them - we'll draft Gore.

I am not spending too much emotional time over this election.

It is far too soon to make up my mind about who to vote for other than it will be a Democratic team!

We are going to turn off alot of voters (myself included) or potential voters with too much hype about everything so soon.

Perhaps if I ate upside down and drove my car into the side of my house... maybe I should vomit on my next door neighbor the next time I see them... should I stick needles in my eyes?

That's what "we need to get behind hillary and go for victory" means to me.

48. I-POD.
It's the only way to go. I actually walk into the classroom at a good university wearing one, the same as my students do--only I make a point of turning off my electronic devices--my I-POD and my cell phone--at the start of class. This (I hope) reminds my students to do so. (Actually, if they don't, they're toast.) I don't do so to seem cool; I do so because I love music.

P.S. I beat Halo years ago.

49. Nuts to that
I wanted Edwards for President in 2004, I want it even more in 2008. I don't want Bill Clinton sneaking back into the White House behind Hillary's skirts (isn't this one of the dirty little secrets behind the Hillary bandwagon?), and I think Obama could use more seasoning. Maybe an Edwards-Obama ticket in '08 - if the elections are even held.

I would like to see A woman President - but not THIS woman. Not with all the baggage she's carrying. Not when it has "Lurleen Wallace Maneuver" written all over it.

That's what primaries are for. And just so you know, even in the unlikely even that Hill wins the nod, we all won't be aligning with her, nor supporting her in her power grab.

I've sacrificed plenty.

It does look like a nasty war. Let them go for it. In the best case scenario, they'll damage each other so badly that neither can be a viable candidate, and we'll get someone better on the ticket in the general election.
