Obama: 'Better Judgment' on Foreign Policy

At a closed-door, off-the-record meeting with media mavens and corporate titans at the Time Warner Center in Manhattan Tuesday evening, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., the freshman senator who just three years ago was an Illinois state senator, said he had better judgment about foreign policy than any presidential candidate in either party.

"One thing I'm very confident about is my judgment in foreign policy is, I believe, better than any other candidate in this race, Republican or Democrat," Obama said.

Others in the race have spent decades in the foreign policy world, including Senate Foreign Relations Chairman Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., who visited 82 countries as first lady, Vietnam veteran Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., and former Vietnam prisoner of war Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.

But Obama said, "The notion that somehow from Washington you get this vast foreign policy experience is illusory."

2. it is true. You have to have real experience to understand. that was the neocons problem
they all sat around in think tanks and discussed and planned but, no real experience with the countries and the cultures and the real world.

4. Hillary Clinton is George Bush in a dress (or pants suit)

It's obvious, Old world thinking vs new world thinking. This is the reason why we are bogged down in Iraq with no support whatsoever from our allies except Britain. All the other nations smartly pulled out and Britain, with it's new Prime Minister, may not be far behind. That old quote "keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer" has been lost by this administration and Hillary doesn't seems to understand that. That promise by the Bush administration of "sharing the spoils of war" upon completion of the Iraq invasion is now only a far fetched pipe dream. Hillary's response not to talk to our enemies is only continuing the Bush/Chaney doctrine and this lack of diplomatic foreign diplomacy and foresight will continue to keep us severely isolated from the rest of the world, scorned by our allies and continue the deep resentment from our enemy nations. Nations needs other nations to survive at all levels, America is no exception.

5. They are correct. He has better judgement. I thought Experience was Great
They should not have voted for the war. That shows you what experience does for you. We are in a WAR because of her experience.
