I think I am having Hillary burnout. |
|
I turn on Msnbc - all they talk about is Hillary. CNN - Hillary. In the news - Hillary On DU - Hillary All over the internets - Hillary.
Everyone is so obsessed with her. How much they love her. How much they hate her. What she wore. What she said today, yesterday. How she is smart, how she is calculating. How she is this, and that.
Can we talk about anything else? Can the media?

but I wonder if it is backfiring.
It is on me. She was my #2 choice, but now I am just sick of her.

11. HRC does not have the capacity to be spontaneous, especially with genuine emotions |
|
such as empathy and concern for those who are less fortunate than herself. :(
I don't give a damn how many times Tweety, et. al., "goes orgasmic" over her tough talk and machisma, I'm sick of "The Clintons" in general. Hubby has the charisma, but he can't win it for HRC.

24. It IS interesting that she's also tone-deaf... |
|
(She said that herself in an amusing moment when commenting on winning a Grammy.)
Much of her appeal is a very cockeyed version of hero worship: she's steadfast and forthright. Weaklings love brassy shows of strength, just like they love gangster movies. What's mystifying about this is that she projects this no-nonsense front while her actions bespeak nothing but nonsense: somehow we're supposed to believe that her triangulation and accommodation are all careful and shrewd maneuvers to get her into a position where she can do what she really wants.
Sorry, but that's not really forthcoming from that personality type. Should pigs fly south for winter and she get elected, she'll chart a calculated course to get re-elected, and if they roost long enough on the frozen tundra of hell and she's successful, she'll dance mightily to secure her legacy.
What can we expect from a former Young Republican for Goldwater who's now a third-way, ultra-cautious "progressive"? Sure, Bobby Kennedy was a lawyer for Joe McCarthy, but it's still an open question what he'd have done had he gotten the reins.
With age, I trust my instincts more, and they're redlining.

|
tears from a loving daughter? When Bill's Mother died were those not real tears?
Do you ever see HRC during the week out campaigning and CNN, MSNBC, faux show this? NO....All reports from these networks are manufactured and are not caused by any one candidate.....

those less fortunate than herself. The comparison is not apt - apples and oranges.

I don't hear about her or any other Dem candidate more than a couple times per week.
That will change somewhere around November when I start paying attention. But, for now -- meh.

Edited on Wed Jul-25-07 09:45 PM by Pigwidgeon
A lot of the people adore the Clintons, but until recently, they were the best we had.
Most of the stuff about Hillary is pretty negative. The positive stuff is along the lines of "other people say she can't be beat," and that kind of crap. But they are trying to spin the entire process -- Obama is too inexperienced, Edwards is a hypocrite, Gravel is nuts, Biden is crooked, and so on.

19. I know I am. I liked her years ago, before the media started shoving her |
|
down our throats. Of course, I've also figured out she's just another triangulating DLC corporatist.
I think the GOP wants to run against her because they think she'll lose (even though she polls well among Democratic voters, she also has high negative ratings) and I think the media is trying to make voters sick and tired of her in advance, to help the GOP.

27. Let her get all the exposure now...being a "frontrunner" has its trends... |
|
Ask frontrunners like Muskie, Gephardt, Lieberman, Dean, McCarthy, Stevenson, McCain, Tsongas... there were political moments in time where being the frontrunner seemed all for certain for them to remain.
The mainstream media loves to build castles made of sand for frontrunners...and then they get bored and fire up the wave machine...
