Poll question: Hypothetically speaking, would George W. Bush EVER resign?
Imagine if his approval rating slides under 20%, Cheney and Rove go to jail along with most of the rest of his cabinet, and all international leaders refuse to meet with him. Or make up your own scenario--would he ever pull a Nixon? Or would he refuse, clinging stubbornly to his legacy?

This poll ain't about wishful thinking, unfortunately...

1. Nope -- then he would have to admit to himself that he is a fuckup...
and not the golden boy he pretends to be.

3. I voted no, however sometimes I wonder
if Crash Cart were to be ousted whether * wouldn't go completely off his meds and lose it once and for all? I'm talking about a total mental collapse here, like breaking down on TV giving a speech or anywhere out in public.

4. Hypothetically, yes
In reality, probably not.

Everyone saying no has it backwards.
Hypothetically a lot of unlikely things can happen.

6. Well, I didn't mean if Jack Baur parachutes into the White House...
...blinds the Secret Service with tear gas, karate chops the door to the Oval Office, places a .44 magnum next to Bush's head and grunts "Say 'I resign.' Say it on national TV. SAY IT, GODAMMIT!!"

I'm talking about believable scenarios governed by a probability better than, say, 10,000 to 1. Using what we already know about Bush's personality, his crimes, and the conditions under which Nixon resigned.

Don't be so literal-minded!

I'm hoping that both he and Cheney will get a visit from the suits very, very soon.

7. He can't wait to leave, IMO.
He probably has the same "bush countdown" calendar as I do on his desk.

He had quit everything else he has started.

11. I voted "Yes."
If the lowlife rat-bastard were offered a deal whereby he would not be charged criminally, nor would he be surrendered to international war crimes detention, trial, and presumably execution, he'd quit. He's walked away from everything his whole life, the pathetic loser, why would he stop now?

12. Only if he knew he would face consequences, personally, if he didn't resign
He is an utterly spineless weasel of a coward. He acts "tough" not because of his personal strength, but because others have always helped him and sheltered him from consequences. He would buckle instantly if he knew for certain that he was about to be held personally responsible and pay the price for his actions.
