Edwards holds disability policy forum in NH
Edited on Thu Jul-26-07 09:27 PM by draft_mario_cuomo
Edwards continues to focus on real issues. :bounce:

==July 25th Forum the Fourth of Five Policy Forums to be Held this Week

(Manchester, NH) – The John Edwards for President campaign hosted a forum on disability policy today with National Campaign Manager Congressman David Bonior and Deputy Policy Director Heather McGhee. It was the fourth of five forums to be held across New Hampshire this week.

“New Hampshire voters are looking for substance, not sound bites,” said Bonior. “From ending the war in Iraq to creating truly universal health care to fighting for disabled Americans, Senator Edwards has proposed detailed policies and has led the way on every issue. These forums allow Granite Staters to learn more about his positions, and also to share their concerns and proposals.”

Wednesday evening’s forum focused on Senator Edwards’ bold and detailed proposals to benefit America’s disabled community, including investing in accessible transportation, the creation of transition jobs for young people with disabilities, and a ‘Living with Dignity’ initiative to overhaul Medicare and Medicaid in order to support disabled Americans living independently.

“There are over 165,000 disabled Americans living in New Hampshire,” continued Bonior, referring to the 2005 US Census American Community Survey. “Senator Edwards has proposed the boldest, most detailed plans to fight for them and disabled Americans across the country.”

The series of policy forums will continue through Thursday, July 26th, and will cover Edwards’ policies concerning Iraq, veterans’ issues, the environment, disability issues and health care.

The forums are free and open to the public – details on the last remaining forum are below. For more information or to RSVP go to www.johnedwards.com/nh/events.==
