Clinton/Bayh?
To those of you who are considering voting for Clinton in the primaries, please consider that, while she might appoint liberal justices to the Supreme Court, she is also more likely than the other frontrunners to pick a DLC Democrat like Evan Bayh as her VP. If anyone is likely to make the same mistake Gore made in 2000, it's Clinton. Are you comfortable with the idea of Evan Bayh running as the Democratic nominee in 2016, if all goes well? I remind you that Bayh was the chairman of the DLC when the DLC was no longer even that popular (during the 2004 elections).

There's a reason that he's not running for president right now, and part of it is that he probably has an arrangement with Clinton.

6. Bayh didn't run because he knew he was too far right for the base.
I'm sure given Bill Clinton's remarks about how he'd one day like to vote for Bayh, there probably is an arrangement worked out.

I remind you that Bayh was the chairman of the DLC when the DLC was no longer even that popular (during the 2004 elections).

When four members and one former member was in the Democratic primaries... uh huh.

How different is that from supports of ANY candidate?

Edited on Fri Jul-27-07 02:53 PM by Alexander
Way too many, considering the very tiny group of people who continually post them.

"How different is that from supports of ANY candidate?"

Because most of the pro-Hillary posts capitalize on her poll numbers and ask us all to support her in the primaries with some bullshit excuse that not doing so would divide the Democratic Party.

Silly me, I thought that's what primaries were all about. Apparently they're just coronation ceremonies. :eyes:

41. Try the ignore feature if you get so upset.
I think that the Hillary haters like yourself go out of your way to get all pissed off about poll numbers and pro-Hillary posts.

I think it's all bullshit. Yeah HRC's number are good. So what? The mantra from the Hill-bashers is the same crap over and over. They all get sticks shoved up their asses and jump all over the Hillary supporters with the same tired lines you just mentioned.

WHERE have any of the "same six people" posted ANYTHING making the claim that the primaries are just coronation ceremonies. Please point out the threads you mention. I don't agree. I'm one of the biggest HRC supporters around here and there is NO WAY I think this is a slam shut deal she'll get the nomination.

So, am I one of the "gang of six"? If so, I'd like see ANY post where I've suggested that HRC is the going to be the nominee and everyone should just shut up. I'll wait.

44. No thanks...I'm not as thin-skinned or dishonest as you.
"I think that the Hillary haters like yourself go out of your way to get all pissed off about poll numbers and pro-Hillary posts."

When you pull statements out of your ass like this one, you deserve whatever shit gets thrown at you.

Just because I don't want her to get the nomination means I'm one of the "Hillary haters"? Bullshit. I've made no secret of the fact that I will vote, canvas and donate money to the Democratic nominee, whomever it is.

It is dishonest people like yourself who turn the rest of DU off with your bullshit.

"I think it's all bullshit. Yeah HRC's number are good. So what? The mantra from the Hill-bashers is the same crap over and over. They all get sticks shoved up their asses and jump all over the Hillary supporters with the same tired lines you just mentioned."

I have yet to see a single coherent reason for supporting Hillary Clinton - other than that she's a woman, she's Bill's wife and that she's ahead in the polls.

The rest of us discuss substance while the Hillary fanatics can only discuss trivial aspects. None of the most steadfast supporters post regarding any other issues or anything else of importance. It's all-Hillary, all the time, and if these people had anything worthwhile to contribute, they'd discuss other issues in addition to supporting their candidate, like I do.

"WHERE have any of the "same six people" posted ANYTHING making the claim that the primaries are just coronation ceremonies."

Take my words out of context. Fine. You're only demonstrating that you have difficulty with reading.

"I'm one of the biggest HRC supporters around here and there is NO WAY I think this is a slam shut deal she'll get the nomination."

But unless we all support her right now, you'll call us "Hillary haters". You tried that bullshit with me and you'll surely push that crap on everyone else.

"So, am I one of the "gang of six"? If so, I'd like see ANY post where I've suggested that HRC is the going to be the nominee and everyone should just shut up. I'll wait."

Another tactic by this group is to paint anyone who doesn't support Hillary as a "hater", just like you did. Not only is that dishonest and creating straw men, it sounds exactly like the Bush mantra "you're with us or against us".

So if you continue making dishonest statements, offering nothing of substance and using broad-brush smears to define people, you will be well on your way towards being as obnoxious as the half-dozen Hillary fanatics here.

17. Bayh is pronounced Bye.........and so, based on the pun involved,
I doubt Hillary would be so dense as to want to hear "Clinton Bye" from the time she would select a VP. The GOP would have a field day with that.......as it would be a gift offered to them on a platter.

Just based on that, and the fact that Bayh reminds me much of Alfafa, I somehow doubt this is a ticket in the making!

It would be bad enough to have the Repugs running easily against two Clintons, but to throw in the ticket where it would sound like "Clinton Bye" would just be too painful to endure...
