DU this conservative poll.....
http://www.thefreedompage.org/

Bottom right, in bright yellow.

I've posted this poll once before, but it needs posting again. The lady that is conducting this poll, well aware I am liberal, asked me to pass this on to my friends. So friends, here it is.

Some background on this poll, from the owner of the website herself....
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
<My husband, Curtis, is working on an article for our newspaper and we would really appreciate your taking a few seconds to take a poll regarding who you will support during the 2008 election. Even if you don't plan to vote, there's a place for that answer. This won't take but a few seconds!

Go to http://www.thefreedompage.org and scroll down to the right - it's a bright yellow poll. You won't get pop-ups or any advertisement.>
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I met this lady on the Charlie Daniels message board. The poll results will be used for an article in a small town Georgia newspaper. Let's give red state rednecks something to ponder, as the results from my previous posting has already caused a stir!!

Current poll results:
Who do you support for the 2008 presidential election?
Mitch Romney - R 0% (0)
Rudy Giuliani - R 0% (1)
John McCain - R 0% (0)
Tom Tancredo - R 0% (2)
Fred Thompson - R 5% (21)
Mike Huckabee - R 1% (3)
Duncan Hunter - R 1% (3)
Tommy Thompson - R 0% (1)
Sam Brownback - R 1% (3)
Ron Paul - R 3% (15)
Hillary Clinton - D 12% (53)
Barack Obama - D 17% (73)
John Edwards - D 47% (203)
Bill Richardson - D 2% (8)
Dennis Kucinich - D 8% (35)
Mike Gravel - D 1% (3)
Christopher Dodd - D 0% (1)
Joe Biden - D 1% (4)
I do not vote because it does not matter. 0% (0)
Do not vote - the elections are fixed anyway. 0% (0)

In response to the current results, the website owner had this to say....
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NOTE FROM NORMA:

People have commented that the poll shows primarily Democratic votes, instead of Republican votes. The interesting thing is.........I have asked for people to vote on more conservative message boards than liberal message boards. In addition, I've talked to people, whether conservative or liberal, and have asked them to get their friends to vote.

I have a conservative website and I'm a conservative; however, to get an honest show of votes, I am asking ANYONE, whether Republican or Democrat to vote. I am going to leave this poll up for another week. We are hoping that as many people as possible will vote - please spread the word to your friends. Your political affiliation does not matter, we just want people to vote who they're really supporting.
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Please take the time to vote in this poll. Thanks.

2. Ha....
Thanks for voting. This isn't a typical DUing of a poll, as we have more or less been invited. One poster on the Charlie Daniels message board had this to say....
----------------------
<Gee Norma, where are you soliciting all the votes from? The DNC headquarters?

As of this moment (2:00 PM, 27-July) there were 375 Dhimicrat votes cast, countered by a mere 40 Repub/Libertarian votes. Ninety percent Demo? That's scary... Actually, what's frightning is the fact thirty five misguided souls want Dennis-the-menace as president???!!!>
---------------------------------------

Let's really "frighten" him!

Pass this on to any other liberal minded folk you know! Results will be published!

3. If it's a conservative poll, the conservatives don't seem to be participating in it.
Edited on Sat Jul-28-07 02:57 AM by Ken Burch
That, or they've stopped BEING conservative(given that Edwards is getting 47%).

Nonetheless, I will DU it.

8. From the lady conducting the poll....
The fact that a lot more Democrats are voting is interesting to me, especially since my site is conservative. However, in all fairness and honesty, I have still solicited far more conservative people, to include my friends, and the Democrats are still winning. Everyone can vote. I truly can't help it if more Dems vote than Republicans.

Another note: I'm not trying to get anybody to win (Republican or Democrat) - I just want to see an honest representation of who is truly voting. I made be starting a "firestorm" on this board, but I have to make an observation.

<I personally voted for George W. Bush in 2000 and 2004 and was 100% behind him. I attended the largest political rally for him in history in Jacksonville, FL. However, in the past three years, I have begun a lot of research about what is going on in this country. This research has led me to find out that this current administration is passing some of the most draconian laws in U. S. history. We are currently set up for a "police state" takeover in the event of a catastrophe of any kind.

So many conservatives have read his latest bills and they are truly scared and disillusioned. Once in office, THEY ALL sell out to the establishment. Our current administration has really brought the trust level of the government to a near zero.

The talk of National ID Card, the Amnesty Bill, the John Warner Military Commissions Act of 2006, the National Presidential Directive, etc. is waking people up. Personally, after much research, I have truly come to the conclusion that no matter who wins, they will be ultimately controlled by a group of global elitists (extremely weathly men) who will pull their strings.

Americans still have the opportunity to stand up and speak up about the issues. We have been calling our senators in Georgia to let them know how we feel. Folks, this truly does work, especially if people call in large numbers.>

12. If Edwards is winning, then it's fair to assume that the people
voting are NOT liberals.

Edwards' Senate record is, in fact, pretty conservative.

18. Well, he's changed since then.
He seems to be moving in the direction of RFK's later worldview and social analysis. Not sure if Edwards' is there yet, and I'm not backing him at this point(I'm still loyal to Kucinich), but Edwards needs to be seen as a work in progress.
