I voted with my pocketbook this morning...
I received a call from the DCCC asking for yet another donation. The call was recorded. I said to the caller, "I'm going to be brutally honest. I am very disappointed right now with my Democratic Congressman, Jim Marshall, and his continued support of the illegal war in Iraq. Impeachment is still off the table, according to Nancy Pelosi, and after saying "no more blank checks," a blank check was handed to Bush to keep the war going."

I continued, "I won't send any more money until I see a change in direction in Iraq that brings our troops home sooner rather than later, and movement to do more to hold the Bush administration responsible for their crimes. When that occurs, call me back and I'll reconsider. For me to do otherwise would, in my opinion, add my endorsement to continuing to fund the war, and I won't do that."

The caller politely said, "I understand. Thank you for your past support."

I hated to do that, but that's what I believe right now.

If you disagree with me, that's OK. Tell me where I'm wrong. I can take it.

7. He is the only guy running who has never voted funds for the mess either.
Never!

He has more integrity in his pinky than the major candidates do period.

2. Don't feel bad. I have had two similar calls- I said basically the same thing.
Until someone starts to seriously move impeachment forward, I will with-hold my hard earned money.

Perhaps during the primaries and during the actual presidential campaigns, I will donate so that I can be a voice for a democratic executive branch.

Right now, the dems fund-raising is kicking butt.

3. You're absolutely correct. Why should you give money to those who are supporting the war and
NOT supporting the constitution? It's a no-brainer.

Way to go, my friend.

I'm calling Earl Blumenauer (my congresscritter) as soon as I finish this post.

This is exactly what needs to be done. A thousand times over.

We have to keep giving them lots of money even though we deeply disagree with their policies. And we have to remain silent so as not to create instability or be viewed as "bashing" our own party. Don't worry. They will read our minds and change.

17. Don't fret, Perry
It's just a symbolic gesture. Most of their money doesn't come from us anyhow.

to them anymore. When the people will lead the leaders will follow.

Like anyone else in the world, they can ignore your complaints, but hold back the money and they may have to think twice.

21. This will be the ONLY way to get them to listen. Hit them where it hurts the most...THEIR pocketbook
When the DCCC, DSCC, and the DNC start seeing their funds dwindling, maybe they'll wake up. Money talks in Washington D.C. as we have seen by the Millions upon Millions of dollars raised the last few months.
