Warrantless wiretapping and Katrina - the 2 best reasons for impeachment
The first is clearly illegal and now has even been acknowledged as such by the perpetrators.

Attorneygate is too complicated for most Americans to wrap their heads around (not me, of course) and the masses will be sold on the "no underlying crime" theme just as they were with Plame. I understand that it's about the total perversion of the Justice Department into a thug/enforcement/legbreaker unit of the White House, but we're just not doing a good job on making the American public understand the depths of depravity that Attorneygate reveals - they get hung up on "he (Bush) can hire and fire political appointees at will."

BUT, I have to tip my hat to the Judicial committee, because it was DURING the hearings for Attorneygate that they were able to wrestle into the sunlight the story about the Ashcroft hospital visit, causing the AG to perjure while he desperately attempted to cover up the illegality of the wiretapping. And, of course, Bush is involved up to his eyebrows since he is the one who made the call to Mrs. Ashcroft to let Gonzo and Card in to see her sedated husband and get his ok for the now openly admitted illegal program. So, now we have 2 huge scandals nicely dovetailing. Attorneygate was also great for bringing into the open vote caging, Hatch Act violations, and a plethora of other illegalities both large and small. (I bet they are even bringing home toilet paper from the Justice Department stockrooms.)

I still think they should go down for depraved indifference, negligence, and malfeasance for their conduct during Katrina. I will never forget the victims. I always hope that one day, they too, will get some sort of justice for the way the Bush administration contributed to the death toll.

1. its my hope that currrent investigations/hearings will uncover
the extent of their wiretapping (political opposition, media and activists at the very least). they can't keep this stuff hidden forever and once the public realizes what they've done they are screwed.
