I'm tired of Demo Progressive groups TELLING me |
|
to petition Republican senators to “bring home the troops”.
McCain and Kyl know I won’t vote to keep them in office, so they will pay no attention to me.
Petitions like this are a waste of my time. I also think they diminish my effectiveness to the point when ONE comes along that I really want to emphasize – it’s like “Oh! her again. She’ll sign anything that pops up on the Net."
Hope I am wrong, but this is the way I feel

1. It's their job to pay attention to you. So remind them every chance... |

2. I kind of agree with you... |
|
Every time I write to Ted Stevens, Lisa Murkowski and Don Young (especially), I just know I'm wasting my time. Those three will go down with the ship rather than admit that they're wrong.

3. I've lost track of the form letters from Chambliss, Isakson, Gingrey and Price |
|
I could probably paper half the rooms in my house with them.
But I consider myself that bedbug you cannot get rid of.

4. I always get a laugh out of Saxby's inane responses |

Johnny's are just plain dull. Neither one has any reading comprehension skills.

5. Hand writing would be better |
|
For those instances that you really want to make a point. I do think it is worth it. What if nobody sent them anything?

6. I seem to get that feeling impotent feeling whenever I write, too |
|
Especially Specter, because he makes it clear that he thinks he knows Pennsylvanians better than any other Senator during Judicial proceedings. If that is true, he knows that he can use the power of his position to just do what he wants. I feel that whatever I write, whatever I say over his "comment line" will be met with the professional indifference he's grown so acustom to using in his response.
I get to have Casey instead of Santorium, so that's good. And I have a right wing jaggoff in the form of Tim Murphy, which couldn't suck more, since this person is a child psychologist. Obviously, he thinks he's capable of handling the masses.
Don't know if anything I've said makes anything we do easier, but I'm determined to keep my cards and letters coming!
:-)

7. You are better off writing a letter to the editor.... |
|
I know this is more efffective...
I have worked for State Legistlators here in Ohio and they all take clippings from the paper, including letters to the editor...
If you can get a couple of letters published a year, you will have far more effect than sending off computer form letters to you elected official...
Bottom line: Form letters mean shit. They know you are just part of an organaized opposition and they just don't care...
