Gingrich predicts Clinton-Obama ticket
I know that is the ticket Newt is hoping for but it won't be our ticket.

==Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich predicts Democrats will nominate Hillary Rodham Clinton for president in 2008 and Illinois Senator Barack Obama will be her running mate.

Gingrich is considering whether to get into the race.

He says the GOP will have three "formidable" choices in Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani and Fred Thompson.

Speaking on "Fox News Sunday," Gingrich says he'll decide whether to enter the race in the fall. And that depends how well the Republican presidential candidates are faring against Clinton.

Gingrich says he thinks Thompson and Giuliani could become formidable opponents for his predicted Clinton-Obama ticket.==

1. Personally I hope he is right
Even though Newt is an arogant, hypocritical, sockpuppet.

2. I think he feels it's a beatable ticket. If that's the case, he's damn wrong.

4. I'm not sure he thinks that. However, he hopes to generate fear and loathing by bringing it up.
Then if he can generate enough fear in the hearts of bigoted Americans, he can sow the seeds of hate against women and blacks, by letting the electorate know, "see, it's come to this, women and blacks will be running this country in 2008 if we don't do something to stop it."
I think it will have the opposite effect.

17. Yes, and she is a WASP and I believe Obama is also half-WASP
The reason I am not sure about Obama is the "P" part of "WASP."

20. Fair point about BO but HRC is a WASP and seen as a WASP
I don't see how having a WASP matters. Kerry wasn't a WASP.

11. Social security. Here you go
He seems to have the standard Democratic position, except that he favors keeping raising the retirement age "on the table."

==May 14, 2007
Obama Brushes Against The Third Rail

For the first time as a presidential candidate, Sen. Barack Obama, posed a question about entitlement reform, said that "everything was on the table," except for private accounts, and in doing so, because the first top-tier Democratic presidential candidate to acknowledge that Social Security deficits could not, and would not, be solved without pain.

STEPHANOPOULOS: You've also said that with Social Security, everything should be on the table.

OBAMA: Yes.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Raising the retirement age?

OBAMA: Everything should be on the table.
STEPHANOPOULOS: Raising payroll taxes?

OBAMA: Everything should be on the table.
I think we should
approach it the same way Tip O'Neill and Ronald Reagan did back in
1983. They came together. I don't want to lay out my preferences
beforehand
, but what I know is that Social Security is solvable. It
is not as difficult a problem as we're going to have with Medicaid and
Medicare.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Partial privatization?

OBAMA: Privatization is not something that I would consider, and
the reason is this: Social Security, I think, is -- that's the floor.
That's the baseline. Social Security is that safety net that can't be
frayed, and we shouldn't put at risk.

As MSNBC's First Read:

But isn’t he right? Experts say that to shore up Social Security, you either have to raise the retirement age, raise taxes, cut some benefits, or some combination of the three.==

21. Gingrich needs to take his giant 500-lb head to a bar and go cheat like he usually does.
Tho it baffles me why any female on this planet would find that creature appealing!
