What is it with these Edward's posts? |
|
The talking points and then the cheering section responses?

DU is jammed with progressives and liberals and Democrats of many stripes. We represent a range of tastes in politics and public service. Some like this candidate better than that candidate, others prefer mint extract to green bean casserole.
We aren't the only people you are likey to encounter who may support someone other than your favorite.
If you volunteer for your local Democratic Party organization, you'll run into a range of opinions and favorites right there, nevermind out in the vast registration zones across the country.

What I think is a common trait for all those who support their preferred candidate is a confirmed dedication to democratic principles. That's the silver lining in all the threads despite the very analyzed examinations of issues regarding the candidates.
Like you said, if people actually start supplementing DU with doing volunteer work at a local Democratic Party organization, you see the many shades of blue.

20. Hi, zulchzulu. Good to see you as always. |
|
That phrase you used -- "many shades of blue" -- is right on, and the more shades of blue we have the fainter the shades of red may become.
I want to turn on C-Span in November of 2008 and see a U.S. map covered in blue.

|
I actually could be happy with ANY of our dem candidates. I mean seriously how can anyone sane take issue with any of them?

4. We believe in talking about our candidate's stand on the issues |
|
This is partly influenced by the issues-based campaign Edwards is running, as opposed to a campaign based on personality or biography. I will not comment on what supporters of other candidates are interested in but just look at what they post regarding their candidate. There is nothing wrong with that but us JE supporters simply have a different preference.

5. You obviously haven't read any other candidate threads then. |
|
It happens on all of them; you get those who are fans and others who aren't. Give and take. Discussion. For only a few more long months!

6. Exactly, substance is sadly lacking....pretty speeches and staunch |
|
supporters with no real proof that this man can actually do the job. The only thing we have to judge him by is his Senate stint which was way too short, he made too many critical bad judgements (which is all that he will be doing as POTUS...HINT HINT) and which he spent close to 1/3 of the time campaigning for a promotion. What substance is there for this guy??????? As far as I can see NONE

People like Edwards. I like some of Kucinich's ideas, but just because I don't like him as much as Edwards doesn't make me evil.

10. That's what supporters do during primary time around here. |
|
If you have a candidate you're supporting, maybe you should post positive articles about him/her instead of being annoyed by Edwards' supporters.

I'm for Edwards.

I guess it is OK to pump up the candidate of your choice, as long as that candidate is HRC or Obama. While the two of THEM are busy bashing away at each other, it gives us time to reflect on other candidates that might be more concerned with attacking the really important issues and the rethugs, instead of each other. The Democratically controlled Congress has approval numbers lower than bush; tell me how the hell that shows any progress in the right direction? The Democratic self destructing politicians and the Democratic voters better start worrying about 2008 because it is ANYTHING BUT a guaranteed victory. If your sick of BS business as usual in washington, perhaps the answer lies beyond the two self absorbed Democratic front runners.
