1. Because if she wins, they won't have to update their Rolodexes.

2. Exactly. They have nothing at stake with a Hillary vs. race.
If Hillary loses because the zombie hordes turn out to vote against her, they win.

And if Hillary wins, they win.

3. Many have been thinking the same thing as it is sooooo obvious
but, I do not think they are doing it so the repubs win. afterall, Hillary is repub lite and a total corporate tool.
It would be business as usual with nothing changing and that is why.
They are not fond of progressives. They want the status quo and that is what Hillary represents

4. Two ways to look at it.
Some will say and with good reason. Faux is pushing HRC
because this gives the GOP a better chance to win the election.
Today on CNN a strategist for GOP explained the winning
strategy for them.

l. Cool down the War in Iraq. (Have enough good news coming
out of Iraq that people will be willing to be patient)

2.Have HRC as Democratic Nominee.(Rallies their party--esp the
base. Creates excitement for their party.

I am just repeating a Republican Strategist. I did not get
his name.

There is another way to look at the Fox support for Hilary.
Perhaps they are hedging their bets. If it is their fate
that Democrats win, who would they most honestly want in
the WHite House. A strong case can be made that HRC would
be the thinking Republicans' choice. Think about it --War Issues,
Business Support, Her centrist credentials make her the
most likely candidate . This is in no way critical. Reality
is reality. She garners respect from the Republicans in House
and Senate.

Take your choice.

6. Because She Would Lose the General Election, Obviously
Nobody can possibly be elected with negatives that high.
There is absolutely no chance of them coming down, either.

10. Hi, AndyTiedye. As you can see, I'm supporting another
Democrat for our nomination, and I hear your points on Sen. Clinton but feel that if she becomes our nominee, she will crush the Republican nominee in the general.

My vote in the primary is going to Edwards, and Sen. Clinton is farther down my list of favorites, but they all have enormous appeal compared with anybody the Rethugs are sending up.

This 08 election is a shot at 16 consecutive years of Democratic rule, which would give us a 16 year Supreme Court appointments window.

Senator Clinton would choose way better judicial folks than say, Mitt Romney.

That's just my take on it.

12. I Agree that She Would Be WAY Better Than Any Repiglickin
and I would certainly vote for her in the general election.

But when 51% say that they will NEVER vote for her, what chance has she?

14. Public perception of candidates changes month to month and region
to region.

Richardson barely registered last winter; today's he's in double-digits in some polls. That's a faster rise than Bill Clinton in 1992 and Bill went on to the top job.

The polls give us a snapshot of right now but aren't always valid predictors of what's to be.

9. Easy pickins.
She will rally the disintegrating base like no one else. They will not only win the WH but will pick up Congressional seats if she's on the ticket. Almost as good for the radical regressives as having a gay marriage ban on the ticket.

Imagine

Imagine you are a corporate press mover and shaker, a "decider"-- with an agenda to maintain the
corporate status quo in Washington and the world at large and a big budget to help get you there.
Imagine you are repeatedly reminded who to keep in office, who to newly elect in order to insure that plan was forever viable and intact.

When the right wing of the bird is broken and flailing... you need to prop it up, make it look better. Best way to do that is to make the left wing look worse.

Imagine you had all decided (you and your cohorts in the corp press) that the best and perhaps only way to insure that your guys stay in power and survive a left wing coup, is to mightily endorse the candidate for Pres on the other side the least likely to succeed... the most polarizing, and - because you're in Info-Tainment- the one who would also provide the most entertainment value whilst being swifted. Guaranteeing a win for your guy and a good time for viewers while bringing the opposition down.

Because you not only have the budget-- you know you have the airwaves, most all of them, ergo-- the power to influence.
The Hillary formula. And the reason the Media have donated more to Hillary over the past 4 years than anyone else.

13. Crossover primary voting?
I worry that the right-wingers will cross over to the Democratic primaries to push Hillary's candidacy. And I agree, she will draw very heavy voting from the GOP and we'll end up with Fred or Rudy. Hillary is not my first choice (or even second or third) and I'll support whoever the Democratic candidate is. But I think if Hillary is the Democratic candidate, we lose.

... but I suppose that is no importance to people that will take advantage of yet another opinion piece poorly disguised as, what really? a springboard to launch an anti-candidate rant.

17. Oh c'mon Kitten!

The Beltway Boys, the GOP, the wingnut pollsters (such as Scott Rasmussen and others), and news sources such as Rupert Murdoch's Faux News....

..and more than any of them --------- the mainstream media who are absolutely chomping at the bit ----- all of them want nothing more than to have Hillary win the Democratic nomination!!!

And if you're on their side, why the hell not???

At least Senator Kerry did extremely well with Independent voters!!!!

When you consider how polarizing she is, and how high her negative ratings are on a national scale are, you're belting "Bring her on" from the loudest loud speakers of Washington!

16. There doesn't have to be any big conspriacy about this for it to make sense.
Clinton is a good politician who has had to work with an often hostile media for years. She is good at it.
Also, media, more than anything else these days, wants and needs drama. The Clinton campaign is oozing drama. I have no doubt that the talk around the water cooler at CNN et. al. often talks about the potentially epic rematch between Team Clinton and the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy. They don't even have to care who wins, they just want to show the contest.

19. This is the classic Republican set up,
Hillary has a casket full of negatives and a paper trail a mile long. The Repubs will spare no expense and turn over every rock to rehash or create controversy against her. I hope that she is not too "naive" or 'irresponsible" enough to not see this coming, but then again, the common sense factor is suspect. That is if she wins the Democratic nomination. I doubt it. Go Obama! :yourock:
