Specter says that he and Leahy had not yet been fully briefed on Bush's classsified spy

program.

........
On Sunday, Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter, the top Republican on Leahy's committee, made clear that he believed the Justice Department would be better off without Gonzales. But he said it would be premature to begin a perjury investigation until the committee could find out the facts.

Specter noted that he and Leahy had not yet been fully briefed on the administration's classified spy programs and thus could not determine whether it was true, as the White House has asserted, that the hospital dispute did not center on the surveillance program but a separate facet that remains classified.

1. Whether a separate program
or the same, admittedly illegal one, the behavior in general--the disdain for the Constitution in particular--is what requires, no, DEMANDS punishment. Yes, this corrupt administration will make the history books. As the worst presidential regime this country has ever endured.

4. Impeachment is meant as a defense for the country. That's why there is no
punishment except the loss of office, and in some cases the loss of the right to hold future office.

After he's impeached, resigns, or is fired is when he will need to be tried.

2. A famous man once said...
"Let your 'yes' mean yes, and let your 'no' mean no", anything else is from the devil...

Man I wish both sides in Washington would take that to heart. The country might actually get somewhere...
