Olympia Snowe (R) speaking out IN FAVOR of SCHIP extension |
|
Edited on Mon Jul-30-07 05:43 PM by trashcanistanista
on Senate floor now. Legislation will insure 3.2 million. Still will be some children uninsured. "We all desire to address ... issue of 47 million Americans who lack health insurance".
"We have to work to achieve a consensus on health care, without a doubt". She is asking colleagues to support the extension today.

Only in Clusterfuck Country USA would children be allowed to go to bed without adequate medical care. No civilized nation would allow it. That it would even be debatable is a shame and a disgrace. The "We don't do body counts in Iraq" country doesn't do body counts on dead children in its own country who die because of our Clusterfuck health delivery system. It's hard to get the data.....try a Google search to see what I mean. SCHIP only covers about one-third of the Clusterfuck Country's children anyway. These are 6 million poor children. Clusterfuckers think that poverty is a sign of moral failure and should be punished. The rich are virtuous in Clusterfuck Land - that's why they're going to get a tax cut extension amounting to $14 billion. What a country!!

a shocker she was speaking in favor of it since most of the rethugs are against it. Of course it's not enough. It doesn't even have a dental component. I would like it extended anyway, and hope it manages to pass however narrowly. 6 million poor kids is still 6 million poor kids (and growing). I share your outrage.
