Dodd: 3rd Candidate to Walk the Walk

Presidential candidate Senator Chris Dodd walked in the shoes of SEIU member and Head Start teacher Colleen Mehaffey Thursday, assisting her with classroom activities and seeing firsthand the limited resources she and her co-workers face. In addition to teaching, Mehaffey often has to clean bathrooms, kitchens and other facilities at the school.

Sen. Dodd is the third presidential candidate to experience what life is like for working people in America. In April, Sen. Edwards spent a day with a nursing assistant in New York, and in June, Gov. Richardson walked in the shoes of a Las Vegas family services worker.

Sens. Biden, Clinton and Obama, as well as Gov. Huckabee, have agreed to walk a day in the shoes of an SEIU member by the end of the summer.

1. What a great idea!
Yes, I filled out the form. I would love to see ANY politician come and spend time in my special ed classrom and see first hand the nightmare that NCLB is on a daily basis for kids who are not only being left behind, but run over by this despicably cruel piece of legislation.

I also want them to spend time on a hot day in a 95 year old building that is not air conditioned and with windows that are stuck shut.

And while they are there, we can discuss merit pay. I want combat pay :)

5. This is definitely a better thread.....

......than that loonie-tune wackjob batshit-crazy Krauthammer piece Steve ~

(Which we could all see why you dumped like a hot potato, never to return again!)

Way to go Dodd ~ Way to go Edwards ~ Way to go Richardson (plus Obama, Biden, Clinton and Huckabee) .... and most of all, way to go Steve (for upping the standards of your thread content choice this time!! )
