Is it possible to despise this president any more than I do right now?
During his press conference regarding the bridge collapse in Minneapolis, Bush used the occassion to bash congressional Democrats for their "fiscal irresponsiblity" and for not passing his budget. He used a tragedy of this magnitude to make a cheesy political pitch for his lame-ass domestic agenda? If there is a place below the bottom of the barrel, this so-called president has found it.

All he had to do was say a few comforting words and then shut the fuck up. I'm at a complete loss to describe how much I loathe this creature.

"our prayers are with them....now, if Congress doesn't send these spending bills....blah, blah blah..."
maybe his advisors are confused....
a REAL president would be on his way here, with aid in hand.

his treatment of the north end of the Mississippi now mimics his treatment of the southern end.

2. He's all about the dead bodies. That's his political capital.
Without corpses...he's just another miserable lifelong failure.

4. He should have warned us...
When he said, "I have political capital, and I'm going to spend it."

I'm just seething. I can't believe how furious I am. There are things I'd like to type right now, but the Mods would certainly delete the post.

I just can't stand it.

8. He continues to out-do himself.
I can't stand to watch or listen to him. I am in danger of throwing something heavy through the TV.

3. Trust me . . . he'll find a way to say something even smarmier . . .
Remember, he's got 'til January 2009 (give or take).

And to the sentient, such comments increase the disgust that's growing daily across the country. Once again, he's put his foot in it.

6. If he is accusing Democrats, it is probably because Republicans are at fault.
Bush's modus operandi is to get out front and accuse others of what he himself is guilty of.

7. Sort of...
The Democratic state legislature in Minnesota passed a bill for infrastructure improvements, but the Republican governor vetoed it because it included a five-cent gas tax increase.

But don't get me wrong. The bridge didn't collapse because of Tim Pawlenty. Even it he had signed the bill, it wouldn't have made an immediate effect because it takes a while to get from legislation to appropriations to actual improvements.

But to paint with a broad brush, Grover Norquist's "starve the beast" policy with regard to taxes is the proximate cause of bridge collapsing in Minneapolis and steam pipes bursting in New York City and levees bursting in New Orleans. If you don't collect taxes, you can't maintain infrastructure. If you don't maintain infrastructure, this shit happens.

11. Just wait ... he'll prove you can.
Every time I think "he can't go any lower", he suddenly discovers hitherto unrealized dimensions of venality space to plumb.

15. I am a broken record, but..
It's an indicator of how mentally dysfunctional he is.

He pushes every problem outside himself. He has NOTHING to offer except anger and blame.

He is the (alleged) leader of this country and one of his "jobs", if I might use that term, is to bring us together and to model emotional strength in the midst of crisis.

INSTEAD, ever since 9/11 he has offered nothing but fear, anger, rage, blame and hopelessness (that throwaway line of "love yer neighbor like you'd like'ta be loved yerself", notwithstanding.)

Let me ask you something: What if, after the senior prom at your local high school, there was a horrible traffic accident, and several students were killed? What if, the next school day the students, all suffering some degree of shock or grief, were called to assembly and a crisis counselor took the podium and commenced to spend 15 or 20 minutes blaming the school officials and local law enforcement for what had happened? What if alcohol or not wearing seat belts were factors and the counselor angrily attacked the police for not being present in the parking lot to check on seat belt use, and stated she had repeatedly asked the principal to provide after-prom activities to keep the kids off the streets, but the principal didn't follow up, blame, blame, blah blah blah.

Would the students be likely to leave that assembly carrying with them some enhanced coping skills and some feeling of comfort? Or would they be feeling a sense of disequilibrium and anxiety?

Without a doubt, the crisis counselor would not have understood her role vis a vis that assembly. Well, George Bush doesn't understand his role, either. In many areas of his life, I might add.

* * * * *

George Bush is making us all crazy because he models his "brokenness".

Billions monthly spent in Iraq and he will parade around this disaster will no shame or remorse just to get a photo op. Someone should push him into the Mississippi River right under one of those concrete slabs!

19. In Politics I NEVER & I Mean NEVER Used The Word "Hate" Before....
but since this SCHMUCK stole TWO elections and ROYALLY screwed up a once great country, I TRULY have to say that "hate" comes to mind when I even see him. No longer will I even watch ANYTHING he says on TV, and if he should just happen to appear and I can't switch fast enough I hit the mute button and walk away!

These people are not only CORRUPT, but EVIL beyond belief!!! I have had some extremely "bad" thoughts run through my head at times and one came to me again last night when I heard he was going to visit the bridge collapse in a BLUE STATE!!

May God forgive me!!!
