Send The California Secretary Of State A Note To hold the vote machine companies accountable!
Tell The California Secretary Of State To Hold The Vote Machine Companies Accountable—Send Her A Note Today

__________________________________________________

Last week, the results came in from California’s top-to-bottom “Red Team” review of the four major vote machines used in that state. In short, a crack team of computer scientists and professionals found massive security flaws in all the machines tested from Diebold, Sequoia, Hart, and ES&S. Read the full story here. Debra Bowen, the California Secretary of State now has to make a decision about what to do about all these machines -- does she decertify them, conditionally recertify them if the problems are fixed, or come up with some other solution.

She has asked for public comment through the end of the day today, Wednesday, August 1st. VotingSystems@s os.ca.gov

Obviously, the machine vendors a extremely opposed to the review results and any action by the SOS, and they are trying hard to lobby against these. So we need to let the Debra Bowen that we have her back when she makes the tough decision shemust, and that decision could come as early as Friday, August 3rd.

So please, send SOS Bowen a little note thanking her for conducting the “Red-Team” review, and tell her what you want her to do with the vote machines that do not meet reasonable security standards. Send a your note before the end of business today. VotingSystems@sos.ca.gov

All the best,

2. Bowen is under attack by the same corrupt county election officials, and their
Bushite corporate voting machine allies, who drove our previous reforming Secretary of State, Kevin Shelley, from office (using bogus corruption charges--Shelley had sued Diebold and demanded to see their source code six months before the 2004 election). I don't think the bad guys will win this time, but the public needs to strongly support Bowen in her efforts to restore the integrity of our elections.

This is where the fight for our democracy is REALLY occurring--at the local level, with public pressure on county and state officials to do right by our voting system, and to stop doing wrong! Bowen is a hero of the election reform movement. Let her know of your support at this critical juncture! She needs you!
