ANNAPOLIS - Rep. Elijah E. Cummings and Attorney General Douglas Gansler will be co-chairs for Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign in Maryland, Obama's campaign announced today.

Cummings said in a statement that Obama, an Illinois Democrat., "had the judgment to oppose the Iraq War before it began" and "is the one candidate who can turn the page and restore American's standing in the world."

"Throughout his career, Barack Obama has been a leader on ethics reform and understands that fundamental change in the way we do business in Washington is crucial," Cummings said.
