Hillary to Name Al Gore as Running Mate
Do you think it is possible?

It seems like a good idea in terms of a decent selection and at the same time it would be a pragmatic choice.

He already won as VP twice and he got the popular vote in 2000.

So, why not?

4. Why not?
He accepted Bill. Hillary is slightly more liberal than Bill....still not my first pick who is the Kucinich/Gravel connection.

But, why wouldn't Gore accept it? I mean he took LIEberman as a running mate.

15. What would it gain him?
1) The Clintons - per a comment of him - ignored the issue he was passionate about doing very little on global warming - ignoring as real fuel usage declined.

2) In the Clinton years, Gore and Hillary were not always on good terms

3) Gore was NEVER a liberal. It's hard to compare where the three of them were, but Gore may have been the least liberal.

4) Gore is doing what he wants now - why would he take the VP position - He doesn't need visibility.

20. I agree but
Politics is more like the mafia in the Godfather series.

He can try to get out, but they keep pulling him back in.

2. Constitutionally ineligible
Two full terms as VP is the constitutional limit. The same constitutional requirements on the presidency also exist for the presidency.

8. You Have It Backwards
some one who is not eligible to run for President cannot be named Vice President. In otherwords, Bill Clinton is not eligible to be VP because he has served the maximum terms as President.

I don't think the restriction applies to people who have already served as VP. In otherwords, the Republican nominee could name Cheney.

3. He's been there, done that.
Can't see him doing it again.

And anyhow, Hillary isn't the nominated candidate.

17. I don't think so either! But,I would rest easier if Hillary were to rule out this nightmare!
Faux News and Ruppert Murdoch love him! Question is will Hillary pick him? They have voted pretty much the same before Hillary announced she was running. I sure hope I am wrong! Please tell me hell would freeze over before LieBerman would be Vice-President?

16. I SERIOUSLY, SERIOUSLY Doubt It! Seems To Me That There Was
some friction when Al ran for President and I don't think Al wants to go there again!

Al Gore seems very happy doing what he's ALWAYS wanted to do.

21. So is Hillary running for Vice President now??
That's the only way that Al should be on a ticket with her. It's disrespectful to suggest anything else to Gore - especially since everyone knows he should be president.

22. Works for me, but I think "Gore/Clinton" more likely.
The ticket would have huge, built-in advantages, politically.

isn't it fantasy? I mean, how could he at this point theoretically overturn the Democratic nomination process?

26. Gore isn't playing second fiddle to anyone!
Especially Hillary Clinton...I think they have a strained relationship in general.

BTW, what was it Adams said about the VP position being a worthless job (well unless you're Dick Cheney - it can be pretty damn profitable).

27. Gore would never run for VP again. If he wants in that rat race,
he will run for Pres. I heard him say emphatically that he was NOT interested in any cabinet position.
