KOS-A perspective on the sell-out.
http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2007/8/5/102932/8097

<snip>
Yesterday, the Democratic Congress completed it's craven betrayal of both our Constitution and the voters who put them into power, by their weak-kneed surrender to Bush on the FISA bill. While there is much wailing and gnashing of teeth today, and rightfully so, about how stupid and useless our Senators and Representatives are, it's useful to look at the way forward. Since I haven't got a crystal ball the best way to look forward, is to look back -- to the era of Richard Nixon. Yes, that's Nixon -- in many ways the worst President of the 20th century, and yet there's a lesson here worth knowing!

The key question is what can we expect to accomplish with such useless patsies as we've currently got in Congress and why should we work to elect more of them if they're only going to stab the American people in the back? But, history shows us that there is a WAY FORWARD! Republican conservatives once faced the same dilemna (and to an extent still do), and yet they overcame it. So can we.

2. There is only one difference since January 07 - there are more

traitorous Democrats in leadership positions. This list of Republican and Dick-George lovers and gift givers within the Dem Congress and Senate has grown. And the Senate traitors seem to have doubled.

I don't know what to call me. I thought I was an American. Others have called me bleeding heart liberal, progressive, leftie. I think I'll just call me fooled - a fooleree. Capable of being heart sickeningly fooled by promises of traitors who gave away all legal positioning - traitors who support the Patriot Act in un-American ways. Hypocrites for all their campaign promises and fighting words. Well, they voted lethally.

3. It's time to take every single Congressional and Senate Traitor... DINO, "Blue Dog", DLC-er, etc.,

and UN-elect each and every one of their sorry, duplicitous, collusional, aiding and abetting a**es straight out of office. I am going to devote every election between now and whenever that purge is complete to doing just that.

I know it didn't work for us in CT, but a lot of us were still naive about what a Lieberman win would mean to this Party. I believe enough people now see the evil of voting (D) just because of the letter. I believe we need to seek out real, genuine, Liberal/Progressive Dems to run against each and every one of our Party's traitors until they are wiped from this Party.

It is also time to send Al From, and his mealy-mouth "bi-partisan-at-any-price" DLC minion their walking papers, too. I'm not asking you to do this because I say so. I'm asking you to get a list of names in the DLC fold, and watch how they vote, listen to what they say, watch who they support, and take note of all their "affiliations". Also, try and find out where their re-election $$$ comes from. Do those things, and I know you'll agree this faction needs to be GONE from this Party.

That's about it for now.

4. Fight the good fight
It may take time, as we have a very large and rudderless ship to steer, but it can be done.

5. Another perspective right here...
kpete's post here:

article here:
http://www.chris-floyd.com/Articles/Articles/Danse_Macabre:_An_Apology_to_Democrats/

two of my favorite quotes from the post:

<snip>
They cop to cowardice to cover up complicity.
<end>

and

<snip>
But the fact that one mafia boss gives groceries to Grandma while another one steals her blind and leaves her out on the street doesn't change the fact that both bosses are part of the same criminal system, operating on the same principles of violence, extortion, arbitrary rule and lawlessness.
<end>

Hammer meets the head of the nail.... thanks to kpete for the OP :hi:
