YearlyKOS Bans Impeachment Forum
I'm at YearlyKos in Chicago and there are sessions on every topic of interest to progressive bloggers - except impeachment.

We asked nicely but they turned us down. Why? They wouldn't say, but I think the organizers worked hard to bring Democratic leaders like Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, and the organizers didnn't want to scare them off by confronting them with a few thousand incredibly smart, passionate, and articulate impeachment supporters.

1. It's time for new "leaders" I fear
They won't stand up to the republckers. Now the Yearly Kos organizers are afraid to mention impeachment because it might scare them away from attending the conference. Maybe it's true - if they are afraid of a few bloggers, how can we expect them to stand up to terrists.

Reid is pathetic, Pelosi only slightly better. There are people with actual spines within the Dem caucus. Time to root them out and elevate them to leadership positions.

2. A lot of people got turned down for different panels.
I'm not saying the guy's theory isn't right. But I'm just saying he wasn't the only one turned down.

5. I'm sure there were lots of ideas that were turned down...
But impeachment is not just any idea or issue.

It's a defining one.

And to ban it just because they wanted, what they considered, "A-list" guests was cowardly.

Besides it defeated the purpose of speaking truth to power. To having a convention of truth bringing.

It made YearlyKos a joke in the minds of people working hard to get this country back to sanity.

Another thought I had last weekend.

What if the dems in congress looked at yk and thought, "Hey if the bloggers could ban impeachment disscussion, why think there wasn't other issues they'll back down in, like fisa. If yk can be arm twisted to back down on one issue, maybe it's too dangerous to think they'll be solid on another one."

I think that if yk had be willing to lose the a-list by demanding discussion about impeachment, it would have given the dems in congress a true example of leadership. Maybe there would have been more spine in d.c. this weekend.
