27. He was.
First debate I've watched - admittedly because KO was hosting - and my honest, unbiased opinion is that the Kooch won.

I don't have a candidate; therefore, my opinion is about as fair as it can be.

Denny won. The China line threw him over the top.

Sometimes Patty-Pat gets it right.

29. Why does he have labor support?
He didn't do much for labor as a Senator from a Right to be Fired, I mean, Right to Work, state.

(And, yes, he did have some control over that, if nothing else but from the bully pulpit).

12. Watching Edwards tonight
Edited on Tue Aug-07-07 07:49 PM by insane_cratic_gal
Made me decide he's the one I'll vote for.

He moves me to tears, Dennis inspires my fighting side. I get an emotional reaction to both of them.

I feel like a dead fish every time Hilliary and Obama talk. They do nothing for me.

I don't know what that says about me, perhaps I'm just an emotional wreck?

26. I watched that Man speak about his disability
His inability to provide health care for his family.

I cried!

I work in an ER, I see 200 + people a month come in who don't have health insurance. I see 200 plus of them with a similar story.
Who wait until their so sick, they have to be hospitalized to recover! Not lazy people, not irresponsible people, folks who can't afford health insurance because it costs on average 500 bucks a month. People who apologize and feel terrible that they don't have coverage. What makes it worse is sometimes they rationalize, better to pay a 1300 er bill then to pay 500 bucks a month only to be denied for the bill anyway. That's disgusting to me.

It's insanity, it has to stop!

Health care is a huge issue for me. Want to get me in a booth, talk to me about health care. Tell me what your going to do for those people who have choose between eating or paying for a insurance policy.

35. There will be more tears before it's over
Health Care is the #1 concern of every American I speak too. You're right to cry... you're right to be sad... you're right to feel hopelessness at times.

That man was the best moment of the debate. Imagine if he popped up at a Republican one. He'd probably be mocked and scorned. :-(

It's easy, on days like this, to be proud, and to understand why, we're Democrats.

39. I have to ask... and don't take this the wrong way, but
why would you vote for the guy that made you want to cry instead of the guy that made you want to fight?

I don't have a candidate, yet (I get tired of saying that, but it's true); however, if it were between those two deciding factors, I think I'd go for the guy who made me want to fight, not weep.

Do you get what I'm asking? I'm really not trying to be snide or anything.

42. I love both of them
Edited on Tue Aug-07-07 08:28 PM by insane_cratic_gal
I'd be happy to cast my vote for either one of them.

Dennis hasn't popped up on any election poll (polling well) except in our little neck of the woods over here in DU. That gives me a pause. Can he bleep himself on to the map? And how can we help him do that?

And for the record, John makes me cry and want to fight back. Not like I want to sit on the couch weeping. I want to make it right for all Americans, including those snots over at freepville who are so blinded by hatred they can't see past it to elect someone who would make this country better and safer.

28. Thank YOU!
I love John Edwards. As I do ALL of the democratic candidate ..... can't say that for the various supporters 'round here ...... I didn't see the debate so I can't really judge. But I give John a hell of a lot of credit. He's been through a lot of pain with his wonderful wife's cancer and the ROBBED election of 2004. Yet he keeps on going. He's moving up in my choices. Granted, I'm for Hillary and I LOVE Obama, but JE will always be a favorite of mine. I'd be proud to work for him if he's the nominee.

He answered well. He doesn't need to get involved in a freaking "Obama loves/hates Bonds" controversy.

By the way, President Obama will make you proud. You will love him and root for him in '12, I'm telling you.

How'd he answer it?

I have two MLB fans in the house - but they're Bo-Sox fans, so their opinion of Bonds might be jaded. (Tee hee... I have to admit, when I first read that he'd been asked as question about Bonds, I thought it meant bonds as in "stocks and bonds." )

If he makes his mark while the league considers him legitimate, would it be easy to deny him welcome at the WH? Or couldn't that be dissing the sport and the pros who make those decisions?
