From what I am hearing from some of the campaigns we are in very good position to reclaim one and possibly both houses of the state legislature...

We have a bunch of neanderthal Republicans up here in Northern Virginia who have been hanging on through inertia, but who are no longer even close to being representative of the citizenry...some of these jokers are going down this year...we are putting up a great slate of candidates...

Add that to the excellent possibility that we may see Mark Warner running for Senate next year...and things couldn't be better here...

2. SOme of the challengers let slip that their internal polling looks very good...
No specific numbers, but these are challengers running against long time Republican incumbents...

3. That's good news...
I hope you are right about that. I'd like to see our state go in a more progressive direction, but with the idiot republicans running both the House and Senate, not much can be done.

4. wow SaveElmer - are we in the same State?
From where I live Virgil Goode is quite entrenched and I don't see anyone who can unseat John Warner if he chooses to run.

Mark vs John didn't go so well last time, so I'm not sure I feel your optimism. Tom Davis and his little missus are still going strong too.

Hope you are right though.

6. Well I think John Warner will end up retiring...
He hasn't raised a dime, and from what I hear Republicans are resigned to that fact. In a Davis vs Warner matchup, Warner would be a huge favorite...also Mark Warner actually did quite well against John Warner in 1976...much closer than folks expected

I don't know if Devolities-Davis is in trouble or not but Chap Peterson is a great candidate so I would expect that to be close...she changes her mind on a daily basis on nearly every issue...

Rex Simmons in the 40th is looking very good, looks like Janet Oleszek may take out Crazy Ken Cuccinelli, and George Barker is running one of the best campaigns I have seen around here...

All three are running against Republicans in districts that are increasingly blue in nearly every other race...

Chuck Caputo has a well funded opponent, but I think he will do quite well also...
